I was initially worried about it being too harsh for my hair, so I mixed one tablespoon of the product with 3 tablespoons of conditioner and left it on for 10 minutes. The results were minimal but you could see it had taken a little bit to my hair. I waited a day and then applied it directly onto my hair (without mixing with conditioner) and timed 7 minutes. This had a much better effect and my hair was almost back to being poker straight. I waited another day before doing a third session and repeated it with a 10 minute timer. My perm has now been reversed and my hair is not damaged at all. There is a a slight “permy” smell to the product as it takes effect, but it’s not as strong as actual perming solution. Overall, use with caution on fine hair and I’m glad I did little and often as it’s a strong product. Also you can use normal shampoo to wash it out and it’s all out in two washes whereas the mixed stuff can up to 4/5 washes to get fully out. I left in for 12 mins and my hair came out beautifully. Really pleased and still have two further applications left. I remember when I first went to states 30 years ago and TCB was the brand everyone used. Really glad that I’ve found it again - does a fantastic job.
