Veronica Mars: The Complete Collection + Movie [DVD] [2004]

I've seen Veronica mars many years ago. And i'am so pleased to now have it on dvd.

The smartest, funniest,( yet dark )series was cancelled by network tv in the USA. Probably because the the brain dead could not follow or appreciate the witty repartee, and use of a major story line running through each season. Perhaps HBO or a more specialized network would have continued the series. Millions of fans , who call themselves "marshmallows" (if you have watched the series you know why) pressed the network to no avail. The creator and writer Rob Thomas was acutely aware of their unrequited grief, and battled for many years to revive interest from the networks, especially as the series was cancelled abruptly with episodes missing at the end of S3. This box set is your chance to to see one of the best shows ever on TV, as it has been released especially to coincide with the Film Veronica Mars that was recently made. How the film was made is another story in itself. Rob Thomas, and all the cast, and production crew put together a project to raise the money themselves for the film. In an ultimate labour of love, everyone in the film did it for free. So Rob T. appealed to the fans with a goal to raise $2million through an online appeal. He was terrified that nothing would come of this, that he had misjudged the true interest of the fans, that they had all moved on, that he would be embarrassed completely. Well, as the appeal launched, the $2million was raised within a couple of days, and the $$$ kept coming in from all the fans such that at cut-off date almost $6 million was raised. This allowed the movie to be made, and to be well made. The fans put their money behind the project in a big way, and in a never done before way. Fan power bypassed studio resistance. So this box set also includes the film!The series was great- watch out for the most surprising and best kiss on TV in series 1 episode 18(but you must watch all the previous episodes to understand why it is such a surprise). The film shows all the characters 10 years on, and brings them together in an entirely convincing and satisfying movie .Ideally you should watch the series before the film, or a lot of the references, quips, etc will pass you by.Seems Kristen Bell is ready for another film about this unique and "sassy" detective, so maybe there will be another movie. The legions of marshmallows are clamouring for more!

Okay so Veronica Mars the series has been sat in my wish list forever, since they stopped replaying round in circles on E4 however it always seemed a little extortionate that they were trying to sell three seasons of quite an old TV show for more than they were selling six seasons of other shows so i had it on hold. However when they released the Movie, i desperately had to have it and the TV show on DVD NOW however i still did not want to pay the ridiculous prices. I love Veronica Mar and so i am quite happy to support it by spending money on the movie rather than finding it for free but i wanted a physical copy rather than a download from iTunes. I also didn't want to spend more than £10 on a download, i know i am old school. So when i found it on Amazon with the three seasons included at a price better than i had seen the 3 seasons offered, i had to pre-order it. It was great re-watching all the seasons and then launching straight into the movie. They were right this movie was made by the fans for the fans and that really shows. It was perfect, almost as perfect as the original series.

Obviously happy to now own these but I would have gave more stars for 2 reasons that slightly lowered my opinion1 the disc images are in black and white which is a shame2 would have loved to had more bonus materials, behind the scenes and bloopers type of thing

Like a cross between Buffy and the Rockford Files (though I like it better than Buffy), Veronica Mars is funny, dramatic and clever, reinventing itself for each new iteration but with the core of the series held in check. Like all good detective stories, place is as important as characters, and Neptune, sure to be the frontline of any class war in the US, is so well realised that it grounds everything that goes on.The actors all give excellent performances. You can hate these characters as much as you like them, even if things can be a little incestuous (no more so than in the recent movie) in terms of who's going out with who and how the same characters are drawn back together. The mysteries are good too. I can't say I guessed a lot of them as there are a lot of twists and turns, and often there is an uber-mystery to be resolved over a number of episodes.This is high quality entertainment. If there's a downside it's when V becomes a damsel in distress to be saved by the men in her life.

I found the first two series really great. The different mysteries and background story were all interesting, well written and likeable. I loved the characters, the balance among them. However, the third series was missing Duncan badly and I could not understand why Veronica ruined so carelessly his father's greatest dream. She was supposed to love and support him and then she destroyed everything for him without hesitating. I really can't understand it, especially as it was all for nothing in the end.The movie was good, most of the characters came back, hardly any of them was able to step out of the shadow of the past which was a bit strange.The soundtrack was fantastic for all series and the movie, the music and the photography was really atmospheric for all storylines.I wonder how the fourth series will develop the story.

I really love this set. Great idea that they put all 3 seasons along with the movie in one collection. The price is super cheap so it makes it even more attractive.The only complain I have is the fact that it is always something with the cardboard box that holds the dvds (I added pictures 4 and 5), its not very sturdy I think thats why it gets little damages. Anyway very nice release and Amazon is the best place to get your own set for a super price.

Bought the DVD, I live in Europe and it works an plays well! Amazing to get the dvd box for this price.

I liked the TV series when on TV. It good to have the DVD so I can view again a show that was a favorite of mine.

Recu rapidement, et produit conforme. Bien emballé. Seul inconvénient, le texte de résumé n'est pas en français. Mais les dvd sont bien en francais ( possible d'autres langues)

Cercavo di comprare la cara Veronica da tempo, ma come tutti i fan sanno in Italia hanno venduto solo le prime serie e a prezzi esorbitanti.
