I'm delighted with this product
Every once in a long while a product will so impress me that I feel compelled to write. The NaturNest (name which is on the product but not mentioned on website) roof top tent doesn't have any reviews to date, and has important features which the vendor doesn't mention in their descriptions. I purchased the NaturNest RTT 3 weeks ago and it was ready for delivery to my house by a very capable freight company in 6 days; I had to wait a week because I was out of town. Very fast delivery for an item of this size. My son and his friend helped me unbox the tent and hoist it onto my vehicle. It took 30 minutes from cutting open the box until we were completed and it was mounted; it was so easy and intuitive that there was never any need to consult the instructions. A few things caught my attention at this point; the packaging was excellent, with good padding. My tent arrived in perfect condition. Upon initial examination, it was clear this is a very well built product (more later). Included were several thoughtful touches I wasn't expecting which made the initial presentation that much more exciting. First, just prior to mounting the tent, I was about to purchase an anti-condensation mat, which is an absolute requirement not to wake up dripping. Wasn't I surprised when lifting the mattress to find a high quality mat already installed. That saved me $150 and a bunch of hassle. It's not even mentioned as included on the listing page for the product. The second one was the stylish and useful bag that the mounting hardware and tools came in. I've never seen that before, they could have stuck it in a plastic bag like everyone else does. And to my real surprise when opening it I discovered a wrachet wrench included, which made tightening the hardware infinitely easier. I worried too that the NaturNest would be too tall to allow it to fit into my garage. Again, at only 9" high and with low profile racks, I fit easily. Two hours after mounting I was off on a solo overland trip through the Anza Boreggo wilderness in Southern California. Every mile was ridden on very rough washes and cuts, a real test to the strength of the NaturNest. It was terrific (and quiet at highway speeds). Setup is a legitimate 60 seconds, takedown to latching 2 minutes, single handed. I laughed every time I did it, it took longer to set up my camp table. I've been tent camping for 55 years, and I finally tired of sleeping on the ground. The ease with which this product raises and lowers is fabulous. The fabric seem robust, the windows with screens and covers are very large. It was cold in the desert at night, and I kept things buttoned-up. I was very warm and comfortable. There is ample room for 2, and for one it's enormous inside. All 3 nights I slept superbly. I might add another nice touch was the useful LED light which came with the unit. I hung it above my bed and was able to read with just using it. There are 10 storage pockets inside, only one of which I needed. I may also add that the fabric used for the body acts to black out the light, which I loved. When I camp, I have no reason to be up at dawn and I wasn't. Nice touch (for me). I have only one complaint, and it is a small one. The tent comes with 2 large shoe bags which attach via a rubber rod through the guides on the side on the shell. The rod is too small and the bags would fall off. It wasn't a big deal, a quick MacGyver solved it. The bottom of the unit is aluminum, the top a very robust fiberglass composite. The ladder is outstanding and I was secure using it at all times. As you can tell, after three days of use I am very satisfied. While there is no data on long term durability, my view of the build quality and materials used suggests a long life. One thing I will purchase from the vendor is a spare piston; always good to have one just in case. A few final thoughts: whichever factory in China built (and perhaps designed this) has extensive experience. This was no ones first effort. The product is too thoughtfully designed and built. I imagine this comes from the same factory which is producing units which cost 3x more than the NaturNest. Which ties in to why I bought it in the first place; I was looking at the industry leader, and their units cost $2,000 more than I paid for mine. I'm sure their unit is just as good, perhaps even better? But considering how well mine performed, I'll put the money I saved towards more time in the outdoors.

An amazing quality product with just as amazing customer service/support
The NatureNest RTT from Bamacar on Amazon can’t be beat for the price and quality not to mention their customer service has been outstanding!! It’s extremely nice while coming with everything you need like the mattress, air gap pad and bottom ocean pad which on most models that cost thousands more you have to pay extra for at least one of these. It also comes with the LED light strip that has a USB A end that can be plugged into a small battery pack and has an on/off button as well. Included is two large shoe bags with mesh netting in the bottom to drain and let dirt/debris out of that have a round stock rod that slides in a rounded back bottom channel to hang them on the outside of the tent. It comes with two metal poles with hooks on one end that have protective rubber covers that hook into the metal ring eyelets of the rain fly! The rain fly poles have their own canvas bag and so does the mounting hardware kit that’s included and the 13mm open end and ratcheting end wrench they provide for easy installation! The canvas for these two bags is the same heavy duty waterproof canvas the tent is made out of and the mounting hardware/tool kit bag even has a zipper to seal it up! (It’s the small little details like this I love, they could have easily just put it all in a cheap plastic bag but decided to pay attention to all details even the small) The overall setup time is around 2 minutes and so is the breakdown time. It has one heavy duty stainless steel gas shock on each side so once you unlatch the back two latches and slightly press up on the handle the RTT sets itself up and is ready to go! They even thought about the breakdown process too including an elastic bungee cord that goes all the way around the middle of the tent canvas when breaking down to pull the canvas inside of the shell then it slides down to the bottom of the canvas when in use to be out of the way! Once the roof is raised the handle is high and cannot be grabbed so they even added a long nylon strap on the back to grab to help assist you pulling it down to close until you can reach the hard handle! The telescoping ladder that is included is compact and extremely sturdy and it even has a Velcro strap to hold it all nice and tight while traveling! I’m throughly impressed on the quality of it all especially for the price point! It has $100 dollar off coupon box to check at checkout too right now! I did have a couple small issues like it missing the mounting hardware kit for the luggage bars that come with it (another extra costs from most other manufacturers) and the top rubber seal had a pinch in one of the corners. I reached out to Bamacar on Amazon by the contact seller option and was I ever in surprise by the outstanding customer service to follow! Not only did they send me the missing mounting hardware they sent me it and a whole other set of luggage bars with extra mounting hardware kit for them too. I received these only about 3 days after contacting Bamacar about this small issue. I noticed the pinched seal after I got it installed on my truck and immediately contacted them again about it since it was a huge concern of mine to protect the longevity of my investment. I got tracking information already for a full replacement ring seal as well. For a company that just started producing these RTTs in March they truly thought about all aspects needed when designing this product from top to bottom! It only took about 8 days from time of order until a freight company delivered my RTT setup to my door. This amazing customer service and follow up support has gained a Bamacar customer for life!

Very impressed
This is my 4th rooftop tent and I have to say I am impressed with the quality of this tent. The tent arrived with no damages. Well packaged in a wooded box. This tent comes with several accessories that most name brand tents charge extra for like: •2 shoe bags •condensation mat •built in power source for charging devices inside the tent (with a connector on the bottom of the tent for wiring to a power source) •led lighting •bag for the ladder •2 cross bars for mounting items on top of the tent lid (bike rack, solar panel, storage) The dark grey fabric with orange trim looks really sharp. The ladder, struts, and rain fly poles are black matching the tent frame- esthetics matter. The stitching and seam tape are perfectly aligned (I’ve had tents where the seam tape was all crooked and not completely sealed in all areas. no quality check). The hard shell top, on the inside, is lined with a dark grey/black fabric with a designed pressed into it. I keep my full size sleeping bag inside and the tent closes with no issue. The pad is decently comfortable and has a soft washable cover over it. I’m a side sleeper so I will probably add a 1” pad on top but if you’re not a side sleeper, you’ll enjoy the pad how it is. I’m 6”1’ and my feet do touch the end when I’m laying straight out. If you’re taller you’ll have to be on a slight angle. This is a very nice tent and at a great price point. I highly recommend it.

Great product
My husband has been wanting a roof top tent for years but we don’t have any local Shops that sold them on the spot and I didn’t want to deal with shipping issues or prices so I did a ton of research and found this one on Amazon and we love it!! Room: typically my husband (6ft) and two sons (5 and 2) will sleep in this and they have plenty of room. My husband and I without the kids also have tons of room. Waterproof: one reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because every morning we wake up when sleeping in this tent there is a ton of condensation inside. Waking up to wet blankets and pillows is no bueno! Durability: the fabric and all products including the latter are strong and thick and great quality! Comfort: the sleeping pad that is I closed on this tent is surprisingly very comfortable and I don’t need any extra padding. The padding also stays with the tent and you don’t have to remove it to close up the tent. Design: the design is great, it’s just big enough for our family and fits in top of our gx great. It is very heavy so be prepared to get some help to get it on top of your car! Features: there are multiple pockets in the tent to store items and lights. The lights help my kids at night and they are a great add to the design. The tent also has a Blackout option which I love!! It keeps my kids sleeping late and not waking when the sun rises. The latter it comes with is adjustable and very durable, enough for me to trust my kids going up and down it alone. Shipping: the other reason I’m docking one star from this product. I was on the fence about this because the product itself is great but getting the product was a nightmare! I called the shipping department multiple times and at one point was on the call for over 1.5 hours and was transferred to 5 different people. One of the big reasons I went with this product is because it was available on Amazon and I assumed I wouldn’t be dealing with shipping issues. Overall a great product but be prepared to possible deal with shipping issues and putting in a lot of work to track down the shipment and make sure they deliver to the right address at a time that will work for you.

Great RTT, Great value
I have been using this RTT for over a year now and have been very pleased with the quality and ease it has been to use. I did upgrade the mattress for a more comfortable sleeping experience. I had one very small issue and contacted Bamacar and they were great to work with..

Wonderful tent
I bought this tent about a month ago, and have used it twice: once on a wild beach, and once in an open field next to woods. It’s installed on a 4Runner, using a BajaRack. - I have had no quality issues. Every looks fine, operates well. It deploys in a minute, and packs up in 2-3 minutes (less when I was not alone). Ladder works fine as well. I have not noticed any so-so stitching. - It survived high winds without an issue at the beach (20 mph, 30 mph gusts). Point the nose of the car towards the wind and all is good - The mattress is comfortable. I had brought inflatable air mattresses, but neither my partner or I were tempted to use them - The interior lighting works well, I wish i could dim it - It’s heavy to get up top of the car, but once it’s up there, install was easy (I had 3 friends to help, so that was quick). The included ratchet wrench was a nice touch - The interior pockets are really handy. The center transparent pocket fits my 12.9” iPad Pro, so my partner and I could watch movies lying on our backs and looking up at the ceiling. - It rained recently while I was driving home, so I will be able to check for water leakage when closed. If I got water, I will update this review. Silence will mean success - I was able to close the tent with the sleeping bags inside, but it was a super tight close, so I decided against it. The ladder easily fits inside though I was looking at $4000 tents before deciding to take a chance on this one because of the near-unanimous positive reviews. I am glad I did: I am super happy with this tent.

Awesome tent
Have had this tent for a year now, camping in all seasons (more cold weather camping) and it’s been awesome for me solo. Would be tight for a couple but cozy. Easy set up and almost as easy pack up. No wear or tear so far . I have finally decided to replace the “just ok” mattress with an air/memory foam mattress. If you are going to be cold weather camping you need a diesel heater or heat source otherwise this thing will be filled with frozen condensation unless you were to sleep with all the windows open. There is great ventilation for the warmer months and the two top vents help in the colder months along with haveing a window or two slightly zipped open. I sleep comfortably in this tent in tshirt , shorts , lightweight blanket with a diesel heater in down to 0 degree temps( havent been out in colder yet) One thing I’ve learned in the year using it is don’t bring everything you own up in the tent with you and the experience is much more enjoyable.

Wouldn't buy again - poor quality and pretty much trash after 2 years.
Our NaturNest RTT was on our truck for 2 years, and served us ok. We used it regularly. The Good: - the price made it appealing from the start - plenty of space for 2 people, maybe 3 small children if you're lucky - the storage pouches are a nice touch The Bad: - The canvas color is badly faded. - Half way thru the 2 years we had to replace the shocks, as one broke by itself, and the 2nd one was on its way out. The seller shipped the replacement quick, but we had to pay for them ourselves. - Now most zippers are either broken, or nearly broken, making the tent completely useless. - the rain proof coating on the inside of the rain flap on the back is peeling off in chunks. - It is no longer waterproof even when closed, and when driving in the rain, the inside of the tent will get wet/moldy I used to really like this, but the build quality of it just doesn't hold up to regular use or permanent installation on a truck. It may make sense if you don't use it often, and take it off your rig regularly.
