When I was a kid (1 of 8) my very Irish mom would make oatmeal for breakfast most winter days. I loved it and have pretty much eaten it all of my adult life. When I made this oatmeal for breakfast this morning and I took the first bite I felt like I was 6 again. The flavor and the texture were exactly how I remembered, it’s so good it doesn’t even need sugar! I warmed some frozen blueberries in the microwave and sprinkled a little cinnamon on top and I was in heaven. Yes it’s going to cost you a little more that name brand one at the grocery store, but it’s so worth it!

I thought I would cook the porridge the way I usually do oatmeal on the stove, but it didn’t come out that great so I used the microwave method as noted on the package and it was wonderful. I’m so happy because I’ve been looking far and wide to find an oatmeal that really tasted soft and delicious. This is one of them.

This is the best, bar none, oatmeal in the world, period. Organic is important as agricultural chemicals are showing up in non-organic oatmeal; Irish is important because the Flahavan’s porridge style has great taste and a rich mildly creamy texture; oatmeal is important because it’s one of the most nutritious foods you can eat; and finally preparation is a cinch: two scoops of oatmeal, four scoops of water (or milk), 2.5 minutes in the microwave, and you’re ready to add whatever fruits, nuts, and/or seeds you want, or just eat it plain. Best prices are on Food Ireland’s website, but you need to buy in quantity to spread out the shipping costs.

Taste nothing like rolled oats. Seems mushy. Not bad tasting. The texture is different. Not to my liking.

I wanted an organic alternative to Scott's porage oats and these are extremely close if not the same. So delicious and creamy
