Good quality / great size - WATERPROOF!!!!!!
The bag seems to be very good quality and seems as if it will live up to prior reviews of being waterproof. It is very larger and was surprised to see that it's actually as large as I thought it would be. Will be trying it our on an upcoming trip and will update once it's been put to the road test. UPDATE: Just returned from a 2500 mile, 12 day trip in which we saw ran everyday including heavy thunderstorms (1 day we drove through 4 hours of rain straight). This bag did awesome! Not a drop of water in the bag at all, every thing stayed bone dry for our entire trip. As to the reviewers who wanted a frame for the bag, it certainly would be helpful but is not necessary. I loaded the bag the 1st time by myself with no problems. The remaining times I had my 2 sons hold up the ends while I loaded which made for very quick loading. 1 thing like about the lack of a frame is that once it was fully loaded, I could manipulate the bag so that my rear hatch (2016 Dodge Caravan) would open freely. Only negative I can say is that the included straps were worthless for using on my hitch rack. I see where they would work well with Mockins hitch rack, but mine does not have the open bars around. I used 3 cam straps for a quick, easy securing that held tight and was easy to remove at our destinations.

Good quality, good size, weather proof, and affordable
This was a good quality bag and very affordable. I would recommend this to anyone needing a travel cargo bag like this. It was large but not too large. Just what we needed for some our of suitcases and other things we needed to take on our vacation that didn't fit inside our vehicle. It didn't rain on us, but the way everything was zipped with the weatherproof 'flap' over top of the zipper, I know it would have stayed dry so it was not a concern. Thank you.

Good bag
Great bag for hitch basket. Keeps water and elements out. Comes with a lock, but if someone wants your stuff that bad, it will not keep from being stolen. Straps worked good, held bag in place as expected. I added a ratcheting strap for additional support. The bag is thick, and when full is shaped as a rectangular cube. Picture looks like it’s a hard box, this is not that. I have a Thule and I prefer this over the Thule on top of car. Much easier to get to stuff and lower wind noise and resistance.

For the price and value it can't be beat!
So I wanted to a cargo hitch carrier bag to use for our trip to Orlando to Universal and Disney which is approx 6 hours away from us. I refused to use the eggshell roof cargo carrier as I drive a Nissan Armada and accessing that compartment on the roof and putting luggage in it is a hassle I did not want to deal with. So I did some research and because I already had a cargo carrier I looked for a bag and went with this one because of the price point. And man I did not regret this decision! We literally just came back from our trip and low and behold it rained very, very hard on our drive back for almost 4 hours of the trip and yep everything inside was dry! No water or moisture inside! This carrier hitch bag is made out of vinyl/rubber so it does smell like you would expect vinyl/rubber to smell like. Think rain coat material except thicker and more durable. It zips up all the way around tight and then is reinforced with velcro along the top for an extra layer to seal it so no water or dust gets in. Now I will tell you this bag and even the others like it that cost more are just that, bags. The pictures a deceiving as when you receive it it's not square like it is in the picture it's literally just a large cargo bag that you can put your stuff in which in itself is not bad and would still work. But a quick YouTube search found a video on how to build a frame for this bag and others like it out of PVC piping which took less than an hour to build. No More than $25 was spent on the PVC pipe at Lowe's to construct the frame which fit perfectly! I have attached a picture that shows it with the PVC pipe in it and now it looks just like the one advertised in the pictures and maximizes so much more space. I fit 2 large suit cases and a stroller in it along with some other belongings. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone looking to purchase one! ***4 year update*** After multiple road trips through various weather conditions the bag is still holding up! No tears, holes, and the zipper and Velcro are still holding tight! Although a little more weathered than before however that's to be expected with use. I will say the straps that came with it started to fray so I cut them off and used bungee straps to secure it which feel stronger anyway.

Exceeded expectations
My first trip with this unit was through torrential rain and winds across several states, and I doubted that things would stay dry inside the bag, but when I unpacked everything was perfectly dry. This has continued to be the case in all my trips with this bag. So I couldn't be more pleased. It is made of very heavy material and the zippers work very well. The included straps work well to keep cargo stable. My cargo carrier does not have side rails and I doubted the straps would keep things upright, but they worked very well. There is also a strap that attaches around the middle of the bag and this helped with stability. The challenge will be to fold it up for storage as it is made of heavy material. Highly recommended.

Nice!
Nice bag. Went on a trip to Florida and drove through a couple of rain storms. Did everything as advertised!

I made a frame using 2x2 wooden boards. this gives it great rigidity and makes it easy to ratchet down on my hitch rack. As you can see in the picture it pools water on top after a rain, which means your stuff is dry, but you do have to be careful opening. Note: length is 57 inches on inside for frame. I went 57x18x23 and its tight but the zipper still closes. Great addition for my van. Gets all the camping gear outside. Update: After 2 entire years of being exposed to the weather both traveling and in my driveway, the bag is still waterproof and in great shape. I purchased another one today, as the zipper is getting more difficult to open and close - have to lube with WD40, but this is due to exposure to dust and dirt from dirt roads. This bag seriously has exceeded expectations.
