A great tool for the money. It seems to be accurate but it wont work on fiberglass cars like Corvettes. I have used it for many car purchases.

The reading results depend heavily upon how square you are to the surface. Will a small foot at the reading end, it's a challenge. Might be best set it on continuous mode and slightly tip it around to get the lowest reading. Same idea on convex/concave surfaces. The included calibration plates ensures confidence of the unit itself. I primarily use it for the delta(differences) readings rather than the absolute values.

While this device might not be the most precise, it performs its function flawlessly. I have absolutely no complaints about how it works, and it’s definitely worth the price. Now, with a backlight and standard battery power, it’s a major improvement!

This is a pretty decent paint meter for the price. However, I have found that I have gone back and forth to the same area and had deviations as much as 11/100 so I can say it is fairly accurate for the money but between the tip being a little bit sensitive and the overly inaccurate readings I tend to get in different areas. When I go back to them, I would rate this four stars instead of five.
