Simple, but handy to have
This is a simple plastic stand, but it was very handy when I was using the cat6 keystones. Is it necessary to be successful? No. But it does make the job easier!

Basic and good
Required if you are terminating cable matters keystones. Didn’t stab myself once.

Works well, a little small though
Before ordering these I watched several youtube videos that specifically recommended getting one of these for doing punch downs. They used at least 4 different types of connectors with ease. Apparently I managed to order one that doesn't even though its one of the commonly displayed well reviewed offerings on Amazon. That being said it seems like it holds the connector secure enough to perform a punch down safely, it just doesn't fit all the way down or click into place. This isn't really their fault, but visually I can't see a difference between mine and the ones from the same manufacturer or in the videos so mine must be just a hair too long for this holder so a tiny bit of breathing room provided by this item (which is marketed as a general use holder) would've been enough for it to sit flat and firm.

A must have
I think a must have to punch down the Cable Matters product. It's a little tricky (for my old hands/fingers) to snap the inserts into place at first, but after a couple it goes smoothly. This is a time saver for sure and makes for a reliable connection, be sure to use a quality punch tool.

Fits what it should, No grip/difficult to hold
Not much else to say - good value for the cost, but difficult to use as it doesn’t really have any easy way to hold it, or any sort of grip to keep it positioned on floor/wall/table/etc

A good time-saver…
Only used it a few times so far but it’s a real time-saver AND it will probably keep me from poking holes in my hands, walls and furniture. Definitely a smart purchase! Recommended.

Works GREAT!! Even with the new, heavier, CAT 6 wires!
LOVE it! LOVE it!!!! This saved me hours in installation of Keystone RJ-45 punch down connectors!! After almost 2 days of installations, only 2 wire issues, (my fault as I didn't punch down wires far enough). ALL others tested out 100% !!! This stand WORKS! Makes the job EASY, Consistent and quick! Even with the new, heavier, CAT 6 wires! (Thicker insulation and central spline) If I had done these by hand, the 'old way', it would have taken me at least three times as long with MANY more wiring errors!(See picture) SIMPLE setup, Screwed stand/holder to 2x4 scrap so it would be SOLID and not move, Attached 2x4 to old wood box so the connector was almost at the same height as the Keystone wall plate (added old socks, rolled up, to keep from scratching the fresh paint-new construction), added call-outs for wire colors to keep from making any mistakes, kept RJ-45 s+strippers+punch down tool+ cutters+screw gun+new plates+spares in box. Process: 1-set box under outlet box, 2-lay wires out of box onto Stand' 3-Trim to length 4-Unwrap RJ-45/snap into stand, 5-Strip wires and lay into RJ-45 6-Punch down 7-Repeat for all connections in that box, 8-Unwrap new plate and snap in RJ-45 connectors, 9-Screw plate onto outlet box 10-Drop tools/trash into box and move to next location.ONLY con: No mounting screw holes so I had to drill 2 holes into stand (Not a real Con for me though as I only needed the stand for Keystone RJ-45 s)

Works with Monoprice
Works well with Monoprice keystone's, used this for over 50 cat6 runs at my house and have had no issues. This item is almost a requirement for punching down keystone Jack's, this unit allows you to do the punchdowns without a hard surface underneath. Can hold it in one hand and punch with the other. Holds the keystone securely but may slip out of position a bit if you do allot of punches and hold at an odd angle, just need to nudge the keystone to get it back into position.
