The Shining [2 DVD] [1997]

Much better adaptation than Kubricks disasterpiece.

I am so glad I've found this on here. I actually prefer this series mini movie to the original movie, and I've actually got it!This is a German DVD, however it has English audio. I find that this 2 part series actually goes by the book more as well, and with it being a 2 parter makes it even more compelling.

I loved the shining full cut in 1980 but really enjoyed this version by Steven king,It's decent for a 12a and is very different to the shining film as it's based of the book. 3 discs with 3 episodes on them, Remember to check you are watching the right episode as the discs are double sided 😉

Closer to the book than kubricks version. Only watch the first disc up to now but although some serious wooden acting I'm enjoying the fact that it is true to the story

Much better than the film.

Very impressed overall. I thought Rebecca DeMornay was more convincing as Wendy Torrance than Shelley Duvall in the film version.The mini series also seemed more faithful to the book which makes Jack Torrance a more rounded character. Very good.
