Excellent product!
My standard Dachshund is hard to fit. His body is long, his legs are short but stout. I bought a medium for him, and I made it fit. I ended up cutting the black nylon leggings off, almost all the way. That allowed for a good fit on his hind end and, in turn, the straps. My dog’s sutures are inside his left groin and on his left hip. He needed the left ham covered, and these suspender pants worked very well. Once I trimmed them to fit, they stayed in place, dog tolerated them well, had great mobility and his wounds were protected. There is a little strap that holds the shoulder straps together, keeping them from slipping off the shoulders. No cone! Super product!

Stiff, poorly shapeded, uncomfortable, no size worked!
Garbage. The medium is was too small and the large is way too big! The extreme size difference was very frustrating and left me with an utter lack of options. Also the awkward shape and very stiff fabric made it impossible to fit any normal dog body comfortably. For reference I have a 44lb staffy/boxer mix. Product just was not smartly made at all.

works really well
As someone mentioned in another review, this item does run a little small - order one size up. I just received the item today so have not really had a chance, or need, to clean it, but it looks easy to clean. I am writing a review right away because it is very good quality and really easy to put on my dog. I have a great pyrenees so you I ordered the largest size available. I was so pleasantly shocked that he did not make a fuss at all and have not tried to pull or yank to get it off. This is a very dominant, no-nonsense dog that tolerates literally nothing at the groomer and vet so for him to not friendly-growl when I put it on or tear through the yard trying to get it off is the mystery of the year. I am so pleased!

Well made with strong materials
We purchased this Coodeo Dog Recovery Suit because our dog has wounds on her belly and inner thighs that she is continuously licking & making worse. We have spent a small fortune on other means to prevent her from licking, such as an inflatable protective collar (see my other reviews), post-surgical recovery suits, sprays and ointments, etc. but as long as she is able to get tongue to wound, the licking persisted. We finally found the Coodeo Dog Recovery Suit with works well with one cavaet. The Coodeo Dog Recovery Suit is well made. The materials are heavy-duty, needed for dogs who do not take kindly to any kind of restrictive coverings, as is the stitching and nylon velcro traps. Many other post-surgical body suits are made such that they tend to slide back and off the tail end of the dog. The Coodeo Dog Recovery Suit has a vest piece that terminates in body-length straps that go under the dog's front armpits, around her shoulders, and then you crisscross the straps behind the shoulders and affix the velcro ends to the hindquarters of the dog. Provided is a velcro band to affix where the two straps crisscross to maintain their location on the dog's bad. This system results in a body suit that can not slide back (nor forward) and remains in place for as long as it is on the dog. There is one negative we found: there is openings on either side where the hind legs meet the torso, allowing a tongue to get to those areas. We rectified that by using a spray-on bandage (see my other reviews) that has a bitter taste to discourage licking, and this combination has proven effective for our dog. That spray's discouraging taste and scent does not last a full day, but does last long enough for over-night, so should the dog awaken during the night, they are discouraged from licking that one open spot. The Coodeo Dog Recovery Suit does effectively cover most of the belly & chest, as well as the thighs and legs, so it offers the greatest protective area. The 1 point deducted on my score is for the openings at the thigh-torso areas. The company could easily rectify this by the addition of fabric flaps, much like diapers. If your dog does NOT have a wound at that specific area, this suit will provide 100% protective coverage.

Size up
Size up. My lab mix large is too small. If your dog is high strung he will rip and ruin these within a day.

TPLO surgery
I bought this to use for my Labrador after TPLO surgery. I actually bought two. It was not hard to put on my dog and he was ok with wearing it. The issue was after the first follow up appointment (10 days post surgery) the doctor said that the material was not allowing the area with the stitches to breathe enough so it was possibly infected. She said to keep the suit off and to use a cone only to see if the area healed or if we needed to start an antibiotic. It was rough initially using the cone on my dog but he has adapted. The incision area seems to have healed by having the suit off and the incision area being able to breathe. While the ease of use was great with this suit, the material may have not worked for my dog.

Very well made britches!
Within 3 days of splinting a broken bone in her foot, the splint had to be removed due to abrasion from it not fitting properly. Now we have a two-fold issue. Keeping her sedated enough to stay off the leg and not licking the wound. The cone made her frantic so I had to find a solution. Thank you Amazon for expedited shipping! I purchased the 2x based on her back length. She is an 85 pound golden. This is fitting very well on the body. It’s loose enough to not bother her and easily adjustable over the hips and straps from chest to hips. The legs are too long but easily rolled up. She is tolerating it very well. It’s study and soft. I’d recommend this for anyone needing the piece of mind that a leg wound is protected and their fur baby is comfortable during the healing process.

Stiff, Abrasive and Uncomfortable
My Staffie underwent TPLO surgery and the lick sleeve we were provided is a nice soft polyester but keeps falling off his backside. I had high hopes for this sleeve having the collar and straps to keep it up, especially allowing him to potty without taking it off. Being waterproof is not really a concern, since his post-op is primarily inside. We were shocked and disappointed with how stiff and abrasive the legs are with this suit. It was difficult to get on and off over the wounded knee and did not have a soft inner lining against his shaved leg. All a sleeve needs to do is cover the area to prevent licking, we just don’t need the rough and tough body armor of this thing.

looks great, but would not fit our dog. looks like great quality

My dog develops hot spots in the summer and he had a particularly bad one on his leg this year, which he insisted on licking obsessively. I used these "pants" along with the antibiotics and anti-itch medication that the vet prescribed. If my dog put his mind to it he could get them off, or somehow manage to get under them to lick his wound, but they certainly helped. And I do like that there's an opening for the dog to do his business while keeping them on - sometimes this type of garment needs to be removed completely, which of course is very inconvenient.
