Yes, they are water proof and very comfortable. I wade fished in the Kenai river all day and my feet stayed warm and dry. Of course I had waders on but between the waders and my waterproof socks my feet stayed dry. I bought a second pair and would purchase them again.

I got these for my son who is 5'6 and weighs 130 pounds. As a teenager he does not have super thick ankles. I think I would wear this same style myself as a woman, I don't have very thick ankles. These worked well for my son in the snow, they were a good price, and are a good quality.

This is an update of an early review. The first pair I received leaked and my feet were soaked in less than a minute. If this happens to you, contact the company. They sent me replacements that work as expected. They aren't rubber boots, so eventually some water will seep in, but I had two walks on waterlogged trails and my feet were dry. Good for short day hikes or wet walks when it's cold. For heavy exercise or for backpacking, get wool and accept wet feet. Water will get in and stay in (from the top or sweat). They don't dry easily. But, for when you'll be out and it's wet and cold, throw them on. That's where they shine...as long as you get ones that don't leak.

Tested in a bucket of water before using. Sock conformed to my foot nicely. Not tight, but firm. During runs and bike rides in wet conditions, my foot remained dry with a slight hint of humidity/moisture. There was no "wet" sagging at the instep or across the toes or elsewhere. Warmth provided was great for the 30 F to 50 F temp range for <6 mile runs. Time will tell how durable they are.

They wiil keep your feet dry, but they are not a warm pair of socks. I am size 8 shoe so ordered mediums and they are a little big... but it works because you need a 2nd pair for warmth

I wore this product on two different occasions while wearing standard running shoes - once while running in very light rain and once immediately after rain while the roads were still quite wet. I ended up with one wet foot both times. Will need to try another brand.

Encouraged my husband to start camping again. When first child is already ten years old.The last time I bought such advanced socks was 20 years ago, and now the waterproof socks are much cheaper and of better quality.

Longer term review Item arrived on time and prevents freezing toes and cold feet from windchill. Have only used in above, say, 5 degree temps. Not including windchill. I try not to wash too often and I air very well after each use. NB am using in cold temps. Have been OK in intermittent rain but you would need long pants to cover the tops in heavier rain as they can't stop water running down your legs on the inside of the sock. First Review Worked pretty well get with Leaf flat pedal cycling shoes. The washing/drying requirements are more effort than normal socks. No comment on longevity as one ride only in estimated 6 degree Celsius wind chill at my approx. speed.

I use these on my bike. They’re great in the sort of weather where your shoes end up west- spray from the road, light rain. Also nicely wind proof for winter riding. No good in floods- filled up with water and held it there.
