does this not come with the pick and tweezers?

You're right it doesn't have either pick or tweezers but it does have a good pair of scissors, a blade and a nail file with flat screw driver. Very robust and well made and light.

Is the blade flimsy or strong? I have a Victorinox Escort and the blade on that is too weak.

It is quite flimsy. Probably the same blade as on the Escort. Really my least favourite Victorinox. Go for the Pioneer (or the Cadet if you need something smaller) I have had a Pioneer since the 1980's and it is perfect.

what size pouch would be needed ?

It does come with a "pouch". This is a key ring sized knife. It's quality is impressive however and well worth the money. I bought it to go on my daughters car key ring.
