does it have some type of mechanism to anchor this tabletop to the desk?

There isn’t anything to anchor it to a desk but it is very sturdy and stable and I’ve had no issues with it slipping or moving during raising or lowering. I’m a short (5’3”) older woman.

No, this is not shaky at all when I type, I am really enjoying it, and wonder how I ever got along without it!

What is the overall center depth of the top platform as I want to put a monitor arm stand on top in the center to raise the two monitors even higher?

We measured the center depth and its 16 inches. We have two 23 inch monitors sitting directly on top. Hope this helps.
