Great value
For the image quality and versatility of this lens the value is quite undeniable - it's great. You can get some stunningly sharp photos with with lens at any focal length. Compared to the more expensive XF55-200mm it has slightly less colour contrast, the OIS is not as steady and the focusing is sometimes a little hesitant (more so at the 230mm end) it's still good but the XF is better on these points. It is very lightweight too making it much more grab and go than the heavier XF - hence I have both.

Lightweight and very good images
Great value for money in this XC range - if a bit of a slow lens. Light and portable and seems to work well at all focal lengths. As long as you don't plan to shoot in poor light (why would you?) this is a great addition to a lens range.

Delighted with my new lens

Misleading Product Image
The product inage is misleading, if you're expecting the silver verson of the lens pictured like I was, be aware you may well receive the black one like i did! Had to send it back....

Fuji lenses are reliable
Bought this lens as a refurb. Description said there would be scratch on the plastic but the lens looked brand new. Very pleased with delivery and condition. Performance is great as I'd expect from Fuji.

Very portable, lightweight and gives excellent results.
My wife and I share the lens. It is my wife's first experience of using a long lens and she has been pleasantly surprised and pleased at how easy it is to use. I normally use Fuji XF lenses on my Fuji cameras and I was not expecting a great deal from the lens. How wrong could I be? The results have been good and much better than I expected. Although the lens has a small aperture I have been able to take really good pictures in a church and holding the camera at full zoom.

An "OK" Lens for Snaps
The XC 50-230 is an "OK" lens. It's a little slow (at f4.5) and not particularly sharp, But it's inexpensive and incredibly light. As a general 'walking around' zoom for an (occasional) amateur, it creates acceptable results at a budget price. If you're a serious amateur, you'll probably be disappointed with the results, and if you're a pro, you won't be satisfied at all.
