Ruk SportKayak Foam Roof Rack Block System

I've previously used medium density foam cradles on my roofbars to hold my kayak in place. However, these needed replacing, so I opted for RUK's system, based on the Amazon reviews.Firstly, these probably work best with aerobars, rather than standard ones. Mine are square profile standard bars, and the RUK foams do not easily or securely fit. The slot for the bars is straight cut and only about 10mm deep, so the foams get distorted when forcing them onto standard bars. I've had to use cable ties to hold them in place, otherwise they'd be squeezed off.Secondly, because they're made of high density foam, the degree of compression when strapping the boat on is limited. This can lead to some hull distortion in hot weather, if the straps are done tightly.The straps included are OK, but Bison Gear's are better quality. I don't think I'd rely on the RUK ones.These are adequate, but not of the same quality or ease of use as my old softer, thicker foam system.

I really loved this roof rack as it has Straps for the back and front as well as the middle for extra security I'm thinking of buying a second for my holiday home 5 starsAlso it’s brilliant if you upgrade to roof bars because you don’t need to buy more straps.

Ideal for moving kayak without roof bars.Easy on and off.Good job.
