My second pair of these.
Had a pair of these getting on for about 8 years old and as they were just showing signs of wear and tear thought I would treat myself to some new trainers. Spent ages deciding what to get and looked at loads of others. Then it dawned on me, just get a replacement pair of these. I love the fact that they look so " normal". No ridiculous bright colours/patterns. No fancy air/shock absorber soles. Not endorsed by some over paid sports star. These are just so sturdy and comfortable and, in my opinion, because they don't look flashy and shout "look at me everybody" it really ironically gives them such an edge in the "pretty cool trainers" category. Would not hesitate to recommend these trainers to anybody. For the cost these really are top quality and will last you years.

Big fan of Etnies but new shoes falling apart after few mouths
I love Etnies skate shoes, with my last pair of Etnies 'shelfields' giving out after 3 years of abuse I promptly sort-out another pair but alas, sadly they don’t make them anymore.Looking for smart-ish leather/suede only shoes with a round stitched toe, Etnies 'kingpin' where some of the only ones available I promptly ordered two pairs, one brown and one black for the feature. While looking a little bland, both pairs fit fantastically, but are very hard on the heel while walking compared to my old 'cushioned' Etnies 'shelfields'. This has not improved over the 3 months iv been wearing them. The brown suede shoes looked extremely tatty after only 1 mouth of use with the Etnies labelling long since gone along with some of the stitching and frayed cloth tongue, I doubt they will last till the end of the year despite casual use; very disappointing. On a positive note the brown shoes are outside are made 100% from suede, but the black one's are some leather/rubber/plastic composite which looks and feels distinctly fake. All in all they fit well, are reasonably comfortable and look nice (for one mouth) but turns to rags very fast, iv owned much better and cheaper and expensive shoes. But then again spending £20-30 more or less will also not grantee more durable shoes, so grab these if the price is right!

Comfy and last
I haven't skated in quite a while, but I'll never stop buying these shoes. I've been buying these exact same shoes for the last 10 years. I cant find another shoe that I'd wear every single day that i like more. They look awesome, they're comfy (after you wear them in), they feel premium, and last a long time.I buy a new pair roughly once every 2 years, that that's daily use. The inside of the heel area gets a bit ripped with the stuffing coming out a little, but it doesn't make them any less comfortable of painful to wear, and aside from that, I cant really fault them. They're a little stiff when you first get them, so need to wear them in for a couple days but after that, they're great. If they ever stop selling these, I would buy the next 20 years worth in one go.

Comfort and snug
The media could not be loaded. The black Etnies have a suede leather finish with lacings for about 3/4 of the shoe. Fit is snug with no requirement to wear in the shoe - no hard spots or rubbing on the heel. The laces are flat with a slight elastic feel providing a firm fit to your foot. The sole is grippy rubber - I tried on wet patio boards with no slipping at all. The shoe sides and back offer great protection as they have reassured stiffness.
