Works well, but does not mitigate the weight of the item greatly.
Great system to store our Thule Cargo Box in the garage. Installation is complex, but not hard. This comes with good instructions and even a QR code for a video to visualize the goal. I installed solo and it took an hour or so. Pros: -Install is straightforward with detailed instructions -Parts are good quality -Rope is solid with no fear of fraying, damage, etc. Cons: -Rope is too long for our ceiling so a lot is left over. The rope could be cut and tied -Pulleys do mitigate some of the weight of the object, but not as much as I imagined. My wife cannot pull our cargo box up by herself.

Fantastic product
Simple to install; take your time and follow the directions. (Duh.) But holy cow is the cord long! It's for a 14 foot ceiling, not a 25 foot ceiling! Jeez.

Pretty good
This is mostly good. It's relatively easy to install and the pulley system works for raising and lowering whatever you're going to store. It has one big-ish design flaw. There is a mechanism built in that will grip on the rope when you raise the item you're storing, you pull straight down to disengage, similar to the mechanism on blinds. The catch though, if you mount this correctly, you can't pull straight down, as your luggage rack or paddle board or whatever will be protruding in that direction. Even when I got fairly aggressive and pulled without regard to swinging my luggage rack around, there wasn't enough room to the get the rope straight enough to disengage the locking mechanism and lower the luggage thing. The only way I've been able to do it is to climb up on a ladder, have someone on the ground hold the rope, and then undo the mechanism by hand. I will also say that when raising it, the rope pulls at sort of a weird angle and it's kind of hard to get it straight. Overall this item is good, and I'm not going to return it based on that. It's probably fine for other people to buy it too. But that locking mechanism sucks.

Not the normal use but works for my purposes.
I am using it to help lift storage containers up to a track storage system on the ceiling in my garage. Make the lifting of the heavier containers much easier than tryin to lift them just by hand.

Excellent hoist for larger objects at a fair price
Excellent hoist and materials. If you’ve ever put up another similar hoist like a bike one this is slightly more complicated but nothing that won’t make sense. I found the instructions pretty clear with that knowledge. Took me about 30 min to put up. Again, I’ve installed 5 bike hoists twice and have a working knowledge of how they go up and how far apart to space them. It’s pretty cleverly designed. I used this on a Yakima Skybox 18 that’s nearly 96” long and it hoists it just fine. I don’t know that my wife could pull it up as it does require some muscle at that heft. I don’t need a 3 pulley hoist for this box since it’s not that heavy, just long. The two straps stay secure. I like the fact that the strap buckle is quality metal, the straps are made out of seat belt material (just thinner), and the buckles have a silicone sleeve so it won’t scratch whatever it’s holding and it has a holder for the excess strap. Great quality for the price. Would buy again.

Store and lower directly on my car when needed
Just installed this today for my 63" long x 38" wide SportRack Vista XL cargo box. It mounted neatly on one 1/2 of the 16-ft wide garage on my 12-ft ceiling, in between the garage door opener and the left door rail above my Subaru Outback. It's smooth operation, seems solid and the weight of my cargo box is waaaaay under the max load of the pulley/rope system. It took me approx 2 hours by myself (12-ft ladder needed) and is slightly different than the ceiling mount bike rack that I installed a few years ago, but similar concept. Instructions were clear and I slowed down and studied the details along the way to ensure that I wouldn't have to go back and re-do anything once up. Patience is a virtue - Ha! Once installed with my cargo rack load, I then went back and forth a few times of pulling up/lowering down on my vehicle to get the strap adjustments just right, then trimmed all straps and rope for the final step. I'm quite happy with this and it solved several problems for me in my tightly packed garage. The garage is large and "finished" but there's a lot of necessary stuff in there, including 2 vehicles. Def recommend you buy this if you're looking for storage of your cargo top.

Gets the job done.
Product is as described. Took my time with the instructions to ensure proper set up of the rope which wasn’t terrible. They don’t describe how much space you really need for the release strap and for a cargo box it does get difficult to get it fully up and down.
