At unit the model you can set raid. can i set raid 5 start with 3 drives & later expand/grow array size by adding drive #4 and #5 without losing data?

I have the same problem with Yottamaster 5-bay raid enclosure. I started with 3 drives, and now want to add drives to the remaining 2 bays. You earlier said "Then the array will have to be rebuilt to expand the storage area contact with us if you need any help." Please provide a detailed step-by-step procedure for capacity expansion, from 3-bays to full 5-bays. Thanks.

How do you set raid modes on the usb-c 2-bay model (ps200rc3)? mine does nothing when i start it with the switch switched and set key held.

Hello, please kindly follow the steps: 1、Eject your hard drives from computer. Then turn off the enclosure. 2、Toggle the RAID control switch on the back to the "Normal" position. 3、Right click the Computer Management. Select "Manage", find "Disk Management". 4、Turn on the While Pressing and holding the ”SET“ button, press the Power button to turn it on. Press and hold the ”SET“ button until you can see the New Disk in the "disk management". 5、Turn off the enclosure again, toggle the RAID control switch to the RAID mode you want, and then hold the "SET" button and turn on the power at the same time. Can it be powered with a regular 5V wall adapter?

1. No it cannot it's a 12v4A device so 5v is cannot power this enclosure

The 5 bay usb c version says its usb 3.1 but the transfer speed of 5gbs. 3.1 is 10gps. is just an error in the description?

No, an error implies that it was not done intentionally- looking at the other Yottamaster listings with USB 3.1 being used to indicate a 10Gbps transfer speed on some 2bay RAID as well as a 5bay enclosure (note lack of RAID) and then there is this listing for the 4/5bay with RAID and “usb 3.1 type c” lending the impression that like other yottamaster listings with that phrasing this too operates at 10Gbps but the seller suddenly doesn’t have their USB versions straight. Riiight. It stinks of deception and just barely plausible deniability. Bait and switch.
