Solid replacement fob with a minor gripe
Got this key as a replacement for a lost Ford Transit Custom, and it does look like for like, apart from the back cover which has a shiny chrome and black plastic. It's only a small gripe as it's probably down to copyright.Nevertheless this works well as a replacement shell without needing to get a costly replacement from the dealership.When it came delivered to us the key would not unfold properly or snap open - basically they've shipped the unit without tension to the internal spring. Once we got it open, replaced the internals and cut key and went to close it again, you have to position the spring in place then twist the two halves to create tension before closing it together. Having done this the key will snap open perfectly.We weren't too fussed otherwise as this was a straight shell swap. Why spend more money than you need to?This looks the part again, overall great value for money.
