Doesn't come with a case but has six "flat" style brushes.
When I got this I was expecting there to have a case or other way of holding the brushes. It was weird opening the top carton and see the brushes springing back inside when trying to pull one out, until I realized it was on some cardboard tray fastened by white elastic. (You can see another customer's photo on what it looks like.) Something doesn't sit right about saving the cardboard packaging just to store these brushes so I ordered a black, round makeup brush "cup"-like case for $10 more. All together this would be the same price as that Maple brush set with their cup case. However, what I like better about this set is that it comes with six "flat" or non-round brushes while the Maple one has only five. Why this matters is that after spending over an hour searching Amazon for a set of mini flat brushes as a kit, nothing showed up except for so many round brushes in a kit. Many times search can be a problem when you are trying to look for something specific on Amazon, other stuff keeps showing up. So, based on my search results it came down to these two products since it had the flat brushes and more of a variety. This one was cheaper so I got this one. But little did I know it does not come with a case. Buying a case would have them at the same price. This is the case I just ordered soncannot yet speak of its quality: https://a.co/d/18QEHhb I also used a few of the brushes and they are great. They hold the paint well andserve their purpose. I cleaned then and no problems to report, especially since they are brand new. I also love the shape of the handles and size printed on them. Overall, I recommend this set but also recommend you shop for a way to store them too. I was debating whether to deduct a star for no proper storage but decided it's a 5 star... they're cheap and it gives you the option to find a separate case that suits you without being stuck with something weird with a cheap zipper or something like thAt. And the packaging is recyclable so nothing odd there.

Better quality than I was expecting
I purchased these brushes to use as junk brushes for projects other than painting pictures but they’re actually quite nice and much better quality than I expected for such a low price. I still use them as beater brushes and am rough with them, but they could easily function as a beginner set of brushes for watercolor or acrylics. They’re solidly constructed and the synthetic bristles are shaped nicely and hold a decent amount of fluid. They offer a nice selection of different shapes, most of them very useful, especially for watercolor. They came packed in a plastic case and arrived in good condition.

Paint Away
Value for the money is very good. I like the way you can hold the brush with the shape of the handle part of the paintbrush. It’s very comfortable. The bristles I’ve been using for a while, have not spread or bent at the very tip sometimes that happens with certain types of paintbrushes. This one has worked pretty well. Durability is really good, as there are times when you’ve used paint brushes three or four times, the brush and metal part separates from the wooden handle, which is so annoying. With all the different shapes of the brushes they can help with so many detailed work. And like I said, the bristles are very, very good. They’re not bending at the tip so I don’t know if anybody understands that, but they tend to start fraying or bending in one direction which is very annoying cause then you can’t use it to get any fine painting done

Fit your hand & keep their edge.
The brushes fit well in your hand so you have good control over your movement. I bought them to do fine detailing on some of my artwork and I’ve liked the size selection. They hold their edge and I’ve not noticed any fraying or loss of hairs.

Works.
They work. Bristles lose some shape and conformity after cleaning though. Have to trim some stray outer bristles once in awhile.
