We bought this chest set for our son. He’s 11. He absolutely loves it. It looks and feels high-quality. It doesn’t look or feel cheap. The wood top/chest board top is beautifully done. I love the magnetic part of it and that there is storage for the pieces. A really classic and beautiful design that will keep you organized!

What a very nice chess set for the price. Everything seems to be high quality and functional. I am really impressed with the magnetic feature, it's somewhat intriguing. The chess pieces hold well on the board, and if you try to use another magnetic object, like a refrigerator magnet (checking the magnetism of the board itself), some are very weak or won't work at all. However, every magnetic chess piece holds excellent ! Even holding the board upside down! The hinges and hasps are very good and the 2 little latches are like a small bullet catch to kinda snap lock in place so they don't fall open. The storage compartment also is very good in holding and keeping the pieces in place do when it is opened, they won't fall out, providing you put the pieces in their proper spot properly. The felt on the bottom of the pieces are excellent for the protection of the board and lifting off the board easily making a move. The chess pieces are very well made and finished with no sharp edges or roughness. The weight of the set was surprisingly of very good weight, so if you play in a vehicle, it will stay in place with no problem. This is a fantastic chess set for any skill level, to include the excellent portability! I highly highly recommend this chess set !

Christmas gift for my kid. Loves that the pieces stay put with magnetic bottoms but are still easy to slide. Really nice wooden set with storage inside. Hoping it lasts for years and can play with own kids someday.

It's a very good chess set for the money. Magnetic piece all work fine. Looks like authentic wood.

This board looks nice, the magnets are good, the hardware like the clasps all feel like good quality. There's just one downside for me. The face of the board is either vinyl or a soft veneer that looks like wood, which aesthetically is fine and feels really smooth and nice, but because it's soft, it scratches very easily. It also came with a scratch on it, that looked like they tried to cover the scratch with a wood stain type marker, but that just made the scratch more obvious. My husband and I use this as the board we take with us places, so scratches aren't the end of the world. However, if I had gotten this as our "nice/at home" set, I probably wouldn't be as okay with the scratches. I made a case for it to protect it from more scratches, especially for when it's face down so we can pull the pieces out without resting it on anything that might scratch it (picnic tables and things like that). Other than how easily it's scratched, it feels like a well made board and I am overall content with it as a travel board. It's a good size with good pieces. Seems well made, came packaged well, and has created hours of fun for me and my husband.

Love this chess set. It is easy to set up and put away. We have cats, so it is nice to have the pieces magnetized to the board. The cats can steal the pieces, but the pieces aren’t flying everywhere when the cats walk across our games. The game also travels well.

The board: Better quality than expected. Real wood inlay board Tight joinery Seams are straight. The pieces Magnets are the right strength Cool designs, easily distinguishable queen, bishop, pawn. Rooks could be fatter. There is a crack in one piece. I expect this board to last as long as I treat it well. I would recommend this set.

Beautifully crafted chess set—perfect size, magnetic, and very elegant. The protective sponged mold keeps every piece secure and scratch-free. My only wish is a two-piece top-and-bottom box instead of the sliding flap, which feels hard to open and fragile. Worth every penny.

Its a good product.. i gave it as a gift to my daughter... She liked it so much... The only thing i dont like was the magnets are not strong and the pieces dont stick to the board... Otherwise its a godd product
