Grape Expectations: ETUDE Dear Darling Water Tint #5 Grape Ade!
For years, Benefit's Benetint reigned supreme in my lip and cheek stain collection. But after hearing the endless praise for the ETUDE Dear Darling Water Tints, I finally decided to give them a try. And let me tell you, the hype is REAL.I started with the Grape Ade shade (#5), and I was instantly smitten. The moment I opened the bottle, I was greeted with the most delicious grape scent. The applicator makes application a breeze, and the formula dries down quickly to a vibrant, long-lasting stain. This tint not only delivers a gorgeous pop of color to the lips but also adds a subtle flush of color to the cheeks. I love how quickly it dries down on the skin, making it perfect for busy mornings. If you're looking for a budget-friendly alternative to high-end lip and cheek stains, the ETUDE Dear Darling Water Tints are an absolute must-try. The Grape Ade shade is particularly stunning, especially for those with blue eyes – it really makes them pop!Five stars all the way!

Long lasting, doesn’t transfer, but needs good prep
I have both the red grapefruit and grape colors. My favorite is the grape—it looks a little too purple and unnatural in the swatch/example photos which scared me when I ordered it, but in person it’s much more natural. Imagine the lip stains you sometimes get when you drink a dark red wine. It’s gorgeous and great for the fall/winter seasons :)The formula itself is great. It’s long lasting, transfer proof, and fades in a very natural way that gives you a subtle lip lining effect. It is slightly drying, but every watery stain formula is, and it’s less drying than other formulas I’ve tried. The texture really is like water, make sure you wipe off the felt tip thoroughly before you apply it or it’ll drip. One thing I will say is lip prep is paramount. If you have patches of dry, dead skin on your lips the pigment will cling to them and look patchy. I use a lip mask at night, but even so I have to use a damp washcloth to exfoliate my lips beforehand. In my experience this happens with all watery stains, so if your lips are stubbornly dry I’d go with more of a gel or gloss formula. It’s a HUGE amount of product given how little you actually use. And for $6? It’s a steal. I’m really happy I took a chance on the grape color!

Lots of pigment but not long lasting
Lots of pigment, easy application, and dries down quickly. But it doesn't last very long, have to reapply pretty frequently.

Be careful
The tint is okay. However the bottle fell, broke and stained my cabinets when it hit the tile floor. I am a very careful person so this was upsetting!

dries down quickly
as always, great formulai was expecting grape aid to be a more purple leaning color, instead it's a very fuschia leaning color that turns a very true violet over my natural blue-violet lipred grapefruit came out as the most true red looking lip, it's base color is somewhere in the yellow/orange reds to my eye, which works well to neutralize the blue-violet of my natural lip leaving them a deep oxblood red.prune is a lovely brown leaning purple red, that turns an earthy plum on my blue-violet lip basei really appreciate the addition of these three colors since I couldn't wear any of the original colors by themselves. though i could mix the three together to get a shade i could wear. which was nice, but meant i only had one shade when i bought three. now i actually have three unique shades i can wear.

Not even worth the cheap price!
Barely any pigment and does not stay on. I do not recommend wasting your money!

Great stain
This stuff is amazing. I vape and eat and this stuff stays put. It's as thin as water, but incredibly pigmented. It's a good size bottle that's going to last forever. Feels great on the lips, and isn't drying. It functions as described. It's a very durable stain.

My fault for not paying attention...
I'll take the blame on this one for not watching the video and seeing that this is a straight up fluid stain with no gloss whatsoever. I will blame Etude a little though because all the models in the photos have gorgeous shiny lips. This is one of those products for someone that exfoliates their lips daily and likes a complicated application for an all day color. I wanted more of a gloss that leaves a stain behind which I realize now is another product entirely. If you have super smooth lips and are good at application, the color is beautiful.
