Ulu Knife - Sharp Rocker Mezzaluna Knife with Stand for Cutter Pizza, Meat, Vegetables, Herbs, Salad

A few years ago when visiting Alaska I purchased a "Ulu", the traditional cutting tool of the Eskimos. I have used it many times, but for my use I found that cutting sandwiches in half on the diagonal is primary. I place a sandwich on a paper plate and "roll" the knife across the sandwich; there is no pulling or separating since the cutting force is downward against the plate -perfect! I also use it to chop nuts by placing the nuts in a bowl just large enough for the knife and roll the knife back and forth. This knife is a Ulu and many guests in my home have seen me use it. The typical response is, "I have got to have one...where did you get it?" I tell them this one came from Alaska, but you may purchase one from Amazon. It comes with a wooden stand, ready for use, and cleaning it is a snap. It will become one of your favorite kitchen tools. Properly handled, it is one of the safest cutting tools known. I do not keep mine "razor sharp," but I am told that Eskimos shave with their ulu.

Love this. I will replace a lot of my knives. Very sharp, cuts through meat like butter. The grip is just right, easier to handle than I thought it would be. Should have purchased years ago. Great value and good looks.

It worked well at first but then my hand slipped and it is VERY sharp! Really cut myself. Keep the hand not using the cutter away from you. I love the idea but be very careful. It really works well to chop up salads or slicing other foods. Rock it slowly and it does a great job.

A sharp and easy to use to quickly cut and dip vegetables. It is ease to firmly grip a very efficient tool that really speeds cooking prep. The riding shape permits quick and precise food prep. Since nothing is con sales it very easy clean an quickly move to the next task. It is much more efficient than more expensive knives and replaced the need buy multiple knives. The storage lock makes clean up and storage super easy

We were curious if a knife of this design might be good for arthritic hands and yes! It feels great in the hand, took a great edge and works great.

Recommended to me by an occupational therapist after an armInjury left me unable to safely use a chef’s knife to slice, dice, etc anything.It’s very sharp; very easy to use and fun to use. Makes quick work of any veggie. Not sure if I’ll go back to my old knives.Be careful cleaning.Great purchase

Knife that can do it all! Handle color will fade if you put it in the dishwasher I would say it's probably not dishwasher safe. However, it can chop veggies and just as easily be used for skinning. Great universal knife. We've had it for over a month and use it quite a bit and it's held up great so far

I got this as a pizza cutter because I was tired of cleaning the rolling one and it was looking old and dull. This is great, I use it for pizza but also for chopping. It’s sharp and it has a stand so it’s always ready to be used. No more digging through a drawer looking for the pizza cutter.
