Pretty Darn Good
6/13/22 I’m pretty shocked by how far it casts for the price. When I received it I took it apart and cleaned it and then lubed it. It has a dual brake. Both centrifugal and magnetic. And it also has spool tension knob. After adjusting it correctly I havent gotten a birds nest yet. I put 50lb big game braid on it and use a fluorocarbon leader. I’m not great at bait casting but I’m ok at it. This reel casts great! I’m not sure how it will hold up long term and will update over time. For the price I say buy it! I will be buying more.

I think I may have received a defective one, UPDATE
Piscifun is usually pretty good reels for the money. I think I bought one that is defectiveUPDATE----UPDATE------UPDATE----Piscifun replaced the reel with a "Spark Pro" although never mentioned in the description...It is what I consider a BFS reel. Took me less then 5 minutes to get it set up with Seaquar 8lb invizx and paired with my SLX finesse casting rod. I intend this to be my senko/ned rod.By the way my first BFS reel from Piscifun was the "red spark" reel paired on a St. Croix finesse rod. You could throw a 5" unweighted senko 150 feet plus no problem. 8lb Flouro.https://www.amazon.com/gp/buyagain/ref=pd_rhf_d_ee_s_rp_c_sccl_1_5/144-3900835-3932924?pd_rd_w=ZCKvl&content-id=amzn1.sym.9d09eb23-e409-456c-a62e-d6e7fcc2faec&pf_rd_p=9d09eb23-e409-456c-a62e-d6e7fcc2faec&pf_rd_r=VVNZVXVMH96C3WK6AC4T&pd_rd_wg=uMIw2&pd_rd_r=e0c3eae3-4306-4c13-9e29-2acc4a967a32&pd_rd_i=B07ZTCQBZ8&ats=eyJleHBsaWNpdENhbmRpZGF0ZXMiOiJCMDdaVENRQlo4IiwiY3VzdG9tZXJJZCI6IkEzRVlEU1dVTE5OM0tPIn0=

You get a good reel for the price
The only thing I would improve is the thumb bar. Otherwise it's really good for the price.

Very disappointed in this reel.
Let me start off by saying that I have been a fan of piscifun and have bought other items that I am happy with, but this reel is not one of those items. I have been fishing with bait casting reels for 25 years and I was extremely excited to order this one at a decent price. When I opened the box I was excited to see the look of the reel and a quick feel and function test of the reel made it seem that it was going to be a good purchase. I lined the reel with Pline 12 pound fluorocarbon line and took it out the very next day. I tied on a chatterbait and dialed the reel in as I've done hundreds of times before by setting the spool tension to allow the bait to slowly fall at steady rate and then the brake to about half way (5). First cast was conservative and I pulled out a small two pound bass with no problem. The next cast was a little more robust and resulted in a backlash and it only went down hill from there. I tried and tried all night to get the reel dialed in and I spent most of the night picking out bad backlash or at the minimum pulling out line on not so bad ones. I tried over and over to get the reel dialed in with no luck. I tied on a lighter crankbait and resulted in the same problem. My night was spent tinkering with the reel over and over while my buddy caught 20 fish. I came home the next day to get a fresh start and tried to dial the reel in while casting a practice lure in the front yard. Backlash after backlash after backlash. The only way that I could not produce a backlash was setting the drag to almost full, the spool tension to more than needed (where the lure would not fall at all even with shaking the rod), and the side brake to 10. Of course the cast was about 1/4 the distance that I wanted.Another issue that I noticed was the drag. The drag did not ever appear to tighten down until it was cranked almost to full. I did not use my drag scale to see if I could achieve the 18 pounds of drag. It appeared to go from very light drag to almost stop with little adjustment available in between.I hope that Piscifun spends some time listening and getting these problems fixed. I plan to return this reel and not so sure about ordering any further reels unless I can get this issue solved. It amazes me that so many people have given this reel a good rating. I wonder if the few of us that have had issues just got a bad reel? Piscifun I would be glad to try another reel like this one or another model bait casting reel to give it another try. Whatcha got??

Amazing reel!
The media could not be loaded. I ordered the Perseus looking for a good steelhead reel, I liked it due to the dual braking for throwing lighter jigs and bobber set ups. It has an 18.5lb drag which is plenty for putting the slowdown on a runner. The braking consists of your standard magnetic control, if you need more the side plate pops off (no tools required) and with the tabs you can set the centrifugal brake. It also has the fine tune with the spool tension, which has an audible clicking for the adjustment. It runs an aluminum star handle for the drag tension which also has an audible click to it. I am extremely impressed with this reel, it is super smooth and feels very durable. I have a Torrent which beside the Kylin was my favorite, since doing the video I had an opportunity to take the Perseus out fishing (sadly didn't catch any) and have decided its also my favorite..... Piscifun continues to put out some great products and with their prices a guy can actually afford to have different reels for different species or tactics and still be confident in the quality you are getting. My PF1400 is over a year old with lots of fish and no issues whatsoever and my Kylin is right at 10 months old with some good size fish on it and zero issues as well, I fish saltwater and freshwater and have 100% confidence the Perseus will give me the same great service my other Piscifun reels still are.

My hopes were to high!
The reel quality seems really nice! Took it on the lake and there are a couple things I really don't like about it. It's loud when you cast, and it doesn't seem to cast super far no matter how I set it up. And that's with 15 pound braid and decent musky lure. Can maybe cast 3/4 the distance my ugly stick elite baitcaster. Gonna keep it as a spare

OUTSTANDING product!!!!
Absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!! and I use capitals on purpose, this reel is one of the best baitcasting/spinning multipliers I have ever used, only received it yesterday and I am amazed by the quality of this reel. As soon as I had the reel in my hands It was spooled up, straight on the rod, and out for testing, and i cant say it didnt impress, 100% would recommend this reel to new people getting in to baitcasting, and people who have been doing it for years.

Really nice reel at à good price
This reel is a jacked up torrent, the cent brakes are nice feature, l can flip a bait with ease, no backlash, casts good too, with the mag and cent brakes you can dial in a bait with ease. This is another reel at a great price , great quality by Piscifun.
