WOW!
A romance is only a very small part of this book. As someone who lived near Steubenville during the years depicted and lives there now; reading this book was like taking a step back in time. I would recommend this book to both the male and female population of the tri-state area. The details of steel making, local sports, local businesses and social activities will be of interest to many. I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend this book.

Deja vu!
It is a very interesting read especially for those of us who grew up in the valley and attended Steubenville Catholic Central High School. I graduated from there in 1965 along with Jerry’s older brother Pat. I enjoyed seeing the references and pictures which made me reflect on that time in my life which formed a foundation for what lay ahead. Jerry captures the sprit of the valley in his fictional story of a love affair with twists and turns. I found it difficult at time separating the fiction from the non fiction.

An enjoyable reading experience.
I really liked the pictures that were included in this book! Also, enjoyed the story that took place close to my hometown . Brought back lots of memories. This love story took place in Steubenville, Ohio. The birthplace of Dean Martin and Jimmy “the Greek” Snyder. It was during a time when the Steel Mills were booming and the town welcomed hard working immigrants. The diverse population makes for a very interesting read as the above average wages enabled the offspring of their parents and grandparents the opportunities for a better life from their country of origin. The book focuses on an Irish boy(Jack) and an Italian girl (Lorie) meeting each other in rival Catholic grade schools. They become distinct acquaintances as their paths cross in and out of their high school days and beyond. This is a very easy and enjoyable read and one that one can’t put down as you follow Jack and Lorie through their young adult life journey.

Memories of growing up in a multi cultural small River town
Having grownup in Mingo Jct.Oh in the 50s, I was able to relate to everything in this book. I particularly enjoyed the pictures, before and after. The explanation of how the steel was manufactured was Very interesting. His style of writing was enjoyable. The storyline kept me interested in the outcome of the plot.I still have family there, and visit twice a year. I ALWAYS told my husband “ there is nothing like growing up in a small town” I have forgotten how the” post office”game goes.I remember “spin the bottle” well. 😉
