My Seiko “Melodies in Motion” clock was very noisy whenever the clock face moved. After 6 months the face stopped mid-movement and refused to budge. I took the back off the clock (8 screws) and then disconnected the drive motor. When I hit the demo button on the front the motor would spin but I could stop it easily with my finger. Sometimes it wouldn’t spin again unless I spun it by hand. The motor had no torque, was noisy, and vibrates excessively when spinning freely.This replacement motor is an exact match. There are only two wires to solder. Now the clock works perfectly and is much quieter than it was new.

These motors are supposed to support 1.5vdc to 5vdc. I connected them up to 4vdc and they only lasted a few weeks. Then they wouldn't start and/or ran irradically.
