Loved the variations. Actually would have left them natural but it did not match my color sceme. Wood was hard work with and my electric saw choked on it several times and cracked the wood. That said, the pieces were cut perfectly consistent and if you can use then as is they are beautiful.I overestimated the area and ordered too much. I wish I could return the unused portion. $70 wasted.

Not a stain grade productBut suited my needs and saved me a lot ot time and effort

I purchased one of the ambrosia wood reeded pieces to see if it would work for my project. It has various color to it, so I decided if I was going to stain the wood it wouldn't work for me as the coloration would show through. Other than that, it was fine. It was smooth and a beautiful cut. Based on this information, and a quick verification and suggestion from the company, I ordered their other option, the aspen wood reeded boards by the same company. The aspen, I was told, did not have the coloration in the wood so it would be better for staining if I wanted a uniform color. Unfortunately, we didn't look at the wood before the return window was past. In the meantime, we had decided to paint the wood instead of stain. We were horrified to discover that the wood was not "cut" smoothly. It had what appeared to be sandpaper burrs ALL OVER the wood and even more so in the grooves. A few pieces were split at the ends. That was about $250 put in the trash. I ordered again, buying the ambrosia maple because my original sample piece didn't have all that issue on it. The coloration wasn't going to a problem any longer since we were going to paint it. I ended up having to buy more than double what I needed because of the same poor quality wood in the way it was "cut." There were worm holes to fill, the "sandpaper" texture all over to deal with. Mind you, the roughness and sandpaper-like burrs were all over the wood and especially in the grooves, so there is no way to sand it off. In the end, we were able to cut out what we needed from all the extra pieces I had purchased. The rest we returned to the company, who accepts returns, but it did cost us around $25 out of pocket to return the boards. Then, we weren't automatically credited for the return, so we had to follow up with Amazon t receive our refund of around $150. Would I buy again? I like the look, but no, I wouldn't buy these again. Where's the quality control? Are these seconds? I just can't imagine someone selling them in this poor of quality. It cost us a whole lot of time, effort, and a lot of money wasted.
