Perfect Replacement
This product was an exact (except the colour) replacement of the existing piece that broke. I got quotes from plumbers ranging from $ 180 to $ 400. Saved me a lot. Will be buying one more soon as a spare for the other washroom.

My visitor works as a strongman for the circus, or should. He cranked the 25 year old original internal splines right off. I was astonished to find exact.replacement here on Amazon, so I got 2. They are a perfect fit and well-made. BUT they are plastic, if you always crank everything way past too tight, you may not be happy, but likely you already know you need different valving. These are as strong as the originals, not stronger, and like all washer-equipped faucets, by design you DON'T crank them tight; you tighten them only until the water flow stops. This seems to be a lost art and explains the popularity of washerless faucets. Enough bully-pulpit. Be sure to replace both the knob and the underlying ring. It will take maybe 2 minutes. Lazy me only replaced the knob, and learned firsthand how much plastic fades in 25 years...Replacement is easy if you can use a screwdriver. If you have the untinted ones, this allows you to upgrade to tinted ones. I don't think you can beat the price, and the quality is first rate.
