Fantastic Dutch oven... at any price.
I read and watched a fair number of Dutch oven reviews before buying this one. The honest reviewers admit that most of them perform about the same regardless of price! The only differentiators are weight, handle design, and quality of the enamel. Weight matters as the more iron in the pot the better it retains and distributes the heat. Oddly, some of the most expensive ones $$$$ are not even on the heavy side.Amazon threw me a coupon on this unit making it to inexpensive not to try out. The risk of "Cheap" of course is that it turns out to be a poorly made Chinese product delivered with dents or chips. That is NOT the case here. At this price level I'm sure it's manufactured in China, but the quality is Top Drawer! It was packaged with care, came with a few cute and creative accessories, and really reflects well on the brand. It absolutely beautiful inside and out. I bought the 7qt model and it's huge and heavy and I love it. I've cooked in it twice now and gave the interior enamel a workout with some seriously baked-on acidic foods. But it cleaned up with little effort... looks good as new. Great purchase. Do not hesitate and do not pay for a $$$$ brand!

Great quality Dutch oven
Can't say anything negative. Bought this Dutch oven on sale and is worth every penny. Food cooks well and it keeps temperature even. Made stews and chili that always came out perfect. Have not tried baking bread in it yet, but I am pretty sure it will not disappoint. I love the light pink color and I actually can't tell a difference to the pricier name brands available on the market. It is a versatile cooking pot that is easy to clean and one of my favorite pots in the kitchen.

Better Option on a Budget
This is literally the same quality as Le Creuset but a fraction of the price. Not only is the pot beautiful, but it’s completely functional. Made my first ever successful sourdough loaf in it and simply just wiped out the inside with a micro sponge. Cleaned perfectly without any effort. My loaf is evenly browned. A 5.5qt is very manageable for a 2-3 person household. It’s smaller than I expected but adequately sized for my purpose. If you want to do larger stock pot meals or larger loaves, I’d get a quart bigger. No regrets at all opting for this one over a Le Creuset. No one is buying this for the mitts. I immediately threw them away. They weren’t well made or well insulated.

Arrived With Chipped Porcelain, Inside & Out
07/20/2025 Updated Review:I returned this for a refund through Amazon, however I was contacted by the company directly as well. They asked if they could send me a brand new dutch oven (completely free!), and still allow me to keep my refund, due to the fact that they wanted me to be a satisfied customer. Wow!I received the new one today, and it was in PRISTINE condition. It was boxed totally different than the first; very well packed in an original Overmont box, the lid had its own box, and it came with some other items that were not included in the first box. With that being said, I have to wonder if I was actually sent a dutch oven that someone else had previously returned to Amazon the first time. This new one (that looks like it was sent directly from Louisiana and not Amazon) was perfect and beautiful!I have to give Kudos to the company for doing this; as a customer, it makes all the difference to our future purchases, and I will say that I would do business with Overmont again in the future. I am updating my review to 5 stars, because they really went over and beyond to make sure their customer was taken care of. If anything changes, I'll come back to update this review again.Original Review:So disappointed when I opened this today. I had purchased it for baking my sourdough breads in, but unfortunately it had chips in the porcelain, both inside and out. The lid was very bad, all the way around, and there were chips on the inside as well. I probably could have lived with the lid chips on the outside, but will not be using a pot that is chipped on the inside from the get-go. Doesn't scream quality item to me. I will be returning this. Very sad! :(

Great value
Great quality and perfect size. Heavyweight, not light and cheap. Great for baking bread and roasting meats.

This dutch oven won't let you down
This enameled cast iron dutch oven is very practical, and that is for a fraction of Le Creuset price, yet not compromising quality. Full-metal oven safe, including the lid. Durable and beautiful. I haven't tried oven roasts yet, but I am sure they will turn out just fine. I did make Japanese chicken and beef curry in it and they turned out awesome every time (steps included caramelizing, searing, sautéing, boiling and simmering - all delivered with quality). I admit I liked a see-through glass lid from another pot better for range top tasks - to control the simmer with better precision, since cast iron is known (and valued!) for superior heat retention and smoother temperature changes. When storing with a lid on, even completely dried, the rust may start to develop where lid touches the rim of the pot. So I wrap the lid in a thick plastic bag before putting it on - doesn't seem to rust this way. You could also toss a crumpled paper towel inside if needed, to help absorb any residue smells.Make sure to wash it (I also then wipe it dry) soon after usage and don't soak it for long. Tossing it in a fridge is not the best idea as it will rust - just move food to airtight containers and wash the pot. There are oils to help care for cast iron, but I don't like the smell they usually develop over time.PS: I also like those cone-shaped pot holders that came with it and use them a lot, with other pots too :)
