What is the difference between light and dark?

The difference is grip/stickiness and some small changes to sound- it's just down to personal preference really. I'm a violinist but prefer dark rosin because I live in a relatively cold and dry place and prefer deeper tones on my instrument. If I lived somewhere particularly warm or humid, or wanted a slightly brighter tone I'd go for light rosin.

Can the box be reused for other rosin?

Doubtful. The Rodin is fixed rigidly inside the box. It can be rotated.
