No this Sony radio only runs on batteries. But they do last a long time.

How does this radio swith on/off?

On the right hand side edge of the radio there if a small control which allows you to select off or freqency. Moving the control from off to frequency turns the radio on, moving the control to off turns it off.

Does this Transistor Radio work in any other country?

Depends exactly what you mean I suppose: As it is an analogue tuner rather than a digital one, then I would imagine you would be able to tune in to radio broadcasts in the country you were in, unless they broadcast in digital format only. However if you mean could you pick up UK radio stations overseas, then no, unless you were very close to UK shores, such as in northern France. That being said, you may well be able to pick up the BBC's World Service in many countries further afield.
