Great value
Are there better reels out there? Yes. Are they twice the price? Yes. I troll a-lot during open water season. It's my preferred method of fishing for any species I chase. These reels are great. They don't cost a fortune. They're very smooth. The drag is good (not great). I have recommended these to good friends. That's all you need to know. If you want something better, spend double the money and get an Okuma Coldwater.

So far, so good
Bought this to replace a KastKing Rover Round Baitcasting Reel that probably saw a little too much salt water action over the years and finally started sticking. I haven't been fresh water fishing lately and most of my fishing has been off the coast, inshore. A lot of my freshwater reels and tackle have not held up to that brutal environment for very long. My Rover did well even though it wasn't made for it, but after taking a dip or two in the drink on a kayaking trip, it started to stick. So it was time for a new reel that was made to better handle the harsh marine environment. This Rekon, with the graphite body and stainless steel bearings should hold up much better. Having the line counter is a bonus.I took the pictures before I spooled it up (comparison pic with my Rover 60) and haven't calibrated the line but overall it has super smooth winding and drag, the clicker is plenty loud but can be defeated. The Size 20 is bigger than my 60 Rover, so I'm on the fence on whether or no I should get the size 10, for the type of fishing I do, it might be better. But the reel itself is great. even for the size, it is lightweight. Some people don't like it, but having a graphite body is a plus to me. I've had too many aluminum and metal reels/tools rust and pit in a salt water environment.Overall I am very impressed and super happy with the quality for the price. I will follow up how this olds up after my next trip.

Great choice for a line counter reel
I own two KastKing Rover Round baitcasting reels and have been very pleased with them but I really wanted a line counter reel. The ReKon is a beautiful reel; I’m impressed by the construction and how smooth its operation is - it looks great too. The size 30 is a little larger than I expected (my Rovers are 60’s) but not so much so that I’ll return it - I do really like the large handle. I haven’t measured the calibration of the line counter but it seems to read close enough for my needs. I do appreciate the heavier drag over my Rovers.I own a fair number of KastKing rods & reels, I’ve found the quality and value to be exceptional. I’ve also been impressed with their customer service - parts are available and my questions have been answered promptly. Both the company and their products are 5 stars in my opinion.

Gorgeous reel, feature-packed: light, solid, fast retrieval, excellent gift idea.
The media could not be loaded. Bought this for my son as a Christmas present for our saltwater kayak fishing, as we were now venturing in larger bodies of water and just off the beaches for tarpon, snook, & kingfish. Needed something stout, namely a Bait Caster - Troller, as we pedal to our spots or find structure with our depth finders. We’ve been slowly replacing vintage & worn out equipment (mostly Penn’s) as well as building our arsenal with various KastKing models, albeit mostly Spinners paired with Speed Demon Tournament pros (we went all upscale compared to what we were used to). This ReKon Level Wind was definitely outside the spinner norm for us, but it will not disappoint… he is going to be thrilled. Can tell just from the feel it’s light, but powerful, definitely a lifetime gift. This thing is one beautiful beast: Line counter is a great feature which should cut out the guesswork with various trolling lures; loved the bulbous, easy grip handle right off, as well as the quality of the star drag & level winder. High Drag ratio & lotsa ball bearings on this enable it to wind like a scalded cat (as we’ve come to expect from KastKing equipment). Can’t go wrong with the brand.

Not worth the money or time.
I ordered 2 rekon 20 linecounter reels to pair with a couple older salmon rods I have. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on linecounters and decided these should work for my intended use, the linecounter being the most important part of my criteria.I received the reels and 2 spools of kastking hammer 9 braid and spooled them up. The first linecounter worked okay and I got it calibrated quickly. The 2nd was completely dysfunctional. While trying to calibrate to 40' the linecounter would read 38, then I would pull back to 50' and reel back into my 40' mark and the linecounter would read between 40-42'. If I did this again it would be between 44-46'. And when I would reel in the linecounter usually would freeze at 7'.I notified kastking of the issue by email and they asked for a video of this. Instead of providing that originally I called their customer service line and talked to Brian. He told me it would be faster and easier of I returned the product through Amazon and asked for a replacement. The replacement came and I spooled it up with the previously unspooled line from the reel I had originally as they didn't offer another option for replacing the line. While I was reeling the line in the line counter appeared to be working but upon resetting it to zero and going to calibrate it I became aware that the line counter would remain at 0 for some time before engaging. Sometimes this was a foot and sometimes it was upto 12'.I notified kastking again with a call to Brian. He tried helping but informed me they had none in stock to send out to me. His solution was to escalate the issue to Winnie via email (the one I originally emailed). She was more then unhelpful with the situation and only provided a usps return label with no explanation as to what the solution would be nor any thought of my frustration of paying for these weeks prior and still not having working reels. She also never addressed the issue of having no stock available. She simply said "we will provide a replacement or refund" with no timeline.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are not worth the effort or time to get a working product.
