Can not finalize connection? WRONG. Just does not work!
The first one delivered had data disk and no ELM327. The second one reverse of that. The disk is not usable in any normal device. Tried the ELM327 with 3 programs on android and apple and on two cars. Always the same result. The only interface is 5 baud rate. On two programs it shows that it is interfacing and gathering data. When it completes collected ECU data it states can not communicate with ECU. I know it is NO true because it actually told me the vehicle voltage as it did this and I could see the tx/rx signaling.I have used these before with great success, the new board is completely different (you can see it through plastic). DON"T BOTHER, USELESS and a waste of over 1.5 hours and a TWO RETURNS.

Worked great on my 2016 Hyundai
I needed a new OBD scanner to check an issue with my car that wasn't throwing any error codes or activating the check engine light. And I didn't want ro spend a lot of money unnecessarily. So I saw a guy on YouTube review this and I bought it. Used it with OBD Mary app from the Play Store and was able to record the data from my car in real time so that I could properly diagnose the issue. Now I can get the proper fix and all together it only cost about $12-$15. I'm very happy with this product.

Works on some vehicles, depends on protocol
I wanted to use this with an ESP32 board to get data from my 2001 Ford F150, but it does not work with that vehicle (and most older fords). I learned more about OBDII than I wanted to because of this. The picture shows the circuit board and the pins for the J1850 bus protocol are not connected. It would be helpful if the ad mentioned which protocols it does or does not work with, although I might not have understood that at the time of purchase. I did verify it worked on a 2009 Cadillac CTS, so maybe it works on most cars after a certain year, again a good point to mention in the ad. I gave it 3 stars since it did work, just not for what i wanted to use it for. I was able to connect to it with the ESP32 using the ELMDuino library, but I had to connect with MAC address, connecting to "OBDII" did not work (for anyone planning to use this in that way). To test it out with the vehicles, I used "Car Scanner"" app which worked very nice.

Doesn't work.
It connects to my phone but it doesn't connect to the ECU. I know it is not on my end. My Snapon one works fine on my cars. I figure I would give these bluetooth obd2 dongle try as I notice more companies going to BT dongle. I wanted to see how the cheap ones held up. I must say honestly I am not surprised at allIl

Game changer
Anytime the engine light appears on your car dashboard. You can use this product to find out what is wrong specifically with your car. It will give you the code and tell you the specific problem with your car and then from there you can research on how easy or difficult it is to fix that error code. Since buying it, I believe we’ve used it for both our cars at least five times. And it is so easy to install and use. Just have to connect the device to your car and use your phone to download an app and connect by Bluetooth.

Did not work with older phone, but does work
Works with the free app Torque. You'll need to enter a code (1234) to connect via Bluetooth.Has obnoxious blinking lights which can be a distraction at night.Worked with a newer phone, but not a much older one. Maybe does not support older Bluetooth protocol?
