Hunters Specialties I-Kam Extreme Video Eyewear

These are great. The only issue I have had so far, when I set the date and time, the time did not work properly. So every video I recorded was saved with the same time, thus re-writing the previous video instead of saving it as a new video. I returned them for a new pair. I have not received the new one yet. When I do I will leave another rating. Overall, I was very pleased with the video quality, ease of use, and quality of the glasses. I would recommend this product to every one interested, and would advise to be prepared for issues as with any electronics. Not everything can be 100% perfect. I had no issues with exchanging my glasses with Amazon. They were fabulous.As I said, I would place another review when I received my new glasses. I received my new ones so here it is, I am extremely pleased. Everything works as it is supposed to. The video quality is less than you would get with a quality camcorder, but for what you would actually use the glasses for, I am pleased. This is a great buy and I would recommend them to anyone that hunts, fishes, camps, goes to amusement parks, and more. I was more pleased with Amazon's return/exchange. It was flawless and simple. A++ for Amazon and the product. I originally gave a 4 star rating because I had to exchange the glasses, but changed it to 5 star for customer service and the product itself.

so here we go..this is the best 90 bucks that i spent on something that i really didn't need. the picture is great(not gopro),the sound quality is excellent and the overall look is very slick and stylish and modern. the functionality is super easy to understated, and works like promised. i my opinion i think this product should me made a little more rugged, but then again the cost will be higher. if i take care of this like i should i dont think ill have a problem with them for years. the case that came with seems strong enough, also the extra pair of lenses comes handy. i recommend this product to anyone who is not so into spending 400 on a gopro( not that they're not a good product).and this is my lengthiest review ever!!!!

I have had 3 pairs over the last 2 yrs, all have had relatively short lives. frequently do not capture the video even though there is room and bat power. this last pair stopped working after 3 months

Nice if it works. Mine after about half a dozen uses about 30-45 minutes each use recording straight through they locked up. I was able to un-jam them pushing in the reset button and seemed to be working again. Tested them a few times too. Went out the next morning to record a event I was in test driving a rare specialty automobile and missed recording it completely. There were videos recorded but couldn't view or download them. Cryptic format error. Now the vid glasses are locked up jammed again and pushing in the reset button un-jams them until record is actuated. I wonder what the early failure % rate really is on these at the mfg level? I sure didn't abuse my pair in any way. Wore them driving every time video recording the type of lousy drivers I always am coming across. The ones I did find the comments I was making about them were hilarious. I wore them bowling once. They worked great as a tool to keep the head as smooth moving as possible when making the approach to the foul line. One thing I noticed the first wearing and recording session(and probably applies to any camcorder eyeglasses) is that you can not move your head around the way it's normally done. Has to be slower and more deliberate. Watching the video back you can get seasick. I gave a two star sympathy rating for concept and sleek styling. They crapped out way too prematurely and the possible 25fps I could notice a pretty decent difference from 30fps. It's a shame, I really very much wanted these to be dependable and last at least 2.5 years with conscientious handling(which I did with my vid glasses). Oh well.

I am a police officer and I purchased the I-Kam Extreme so that I could capture video evidence on calls for service and traffic contacts. Nine times out of ten the glasses work fine; the image is clear and it picks up audio well so long as it is not exposed to heavy wind. However, I have had the glasses freeze on more than one occasion and it tends to happen at the worst time. In one incident I thought I was recording a contact I'd had with an intoxicated party; the blue light was flashing and everything seemed to be going well. Unfortunately when I went to turn the glasses off, they froze and I was forced to reset which corrupted the file and I lost the entire contact.The I-Kam Extreme has frozen during a couple of traffic stops, though fortunately they were "routine" stops that did not involve anything that needed to be recorded. Ultimately, I like the product but I've found I cannot rely on them to work every time and when they do freeze up I'm not aware of it until after the contact is over and I'm attempting to shut the camera down.The blue light that let you know the camera is recording is easy enough to see at night, but is not readily visible during the day. There has been a couple of times I've started recording at the beginning of a contact only to have the glasses shut down half way through, but I was unaware of this until the end of the contact because during the day I have to strain to look out of the corner of my eye or move the glasses forward a little bit in order to see whether the light is flashing, and that's not something I can do safely during a contact as it can be a major distraction. I end up wondering during each contact whether or not the glasses are going to record the entire thing.If you're a law enforcement professional considering purchasing this product to use during your shift just be aware of its lack of reliability.
