Humble Bee 110 Goatskin Beekeeping Gloves with Extended Sleeves

Good Stuff. Fits Well. No stings. One of my hives has gotten a bit feisty lately. I needed a glove upgrade. These are really good. The leather is a little thin, compared to work gloves, but that allows you to have the dexterity you need. While building nucs, I had several stings to the gloves. I could see the stinger stuck in the leather, but I never felt anything. The forearms are not tight at all. There is plenty of room for the sleeves of my ventilated jacket. Sizing is a bit difficult to pin down. Here is what I know: I wear a large in a glove like the Tillman TrueFit. I ordered the XL in the Bee gloves. They are a little loose, but not bad. For me, that is much better than being tight. My hand is about 7.5" from wrist line to the tip of my longest finger.

I don’t have bees. I have a terrible allergy to Timothy hay and that is what my sweet goats eat! It’s awful. The length of these gloves allow me to handle the hay without exposing any skin. Amazing. I know it’s super morbid that the leather is goatskin (don’t tell my girls!), but it’s incredibly soft and supple; not bulky or cumbersome like so many other work gloves. Allows me to use my fingers instead of seemingly trying to work in mittens. They’re beautiful and (also morbid) my goats LOVE being scratched with these gloves, especially on their faces. I know, right? I also love the elastic tension. Not too much. Fabulous product for my needs! : )

As far as the quality is concerned, these gloves receive a 5 star rating. The hand portion is made of thick leather. The sleeve portion comes high up on the arm and the elastic does a good job of sealing around the arm. The material on the sleeve is made of a thick material which also provides additional protection. The size of the gloves receives a 2 star rating. I am not a big person with big hands and these gloves fit me very well. I would typically wear a large glove size. I am not an expert in glove sizes but I would be very surprised to learn that these would fit an extra-large hand. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. I need these to remove unwanted wasp nests which seem to be an annual occurrence. These gloves should last me a very long time.

Quality seems quite nice for the price and the leather is comfortable. The seams are fairly heavy duty too. I'm a small man (5' 4") and I bought the suit and gloves both in XS. The suit fits perfectly. The gloves, however, seem to run very small in correlation to the suit. I exchanged them for a Small, but may even need a Medium. I'll know when they arrive and update this review. That being said, I may just have rather large, bear-like paws as I am a carpenter by trade and have muscular hands. Basically I'd go up a size if you have "man hands" or paws or abnormally large knuckles or something...

I've had three pairs of gloves, including the nicest and the not so nice. The Humble Bee company has made an excellent product here. These gloves are supple, but have the coverage to protect your hands. The canvas tops are easy to push up over your suit without a struggle. Their bee suits, which come with their own zipplable bag are also a dream. Great company; fabulous product.

They looked pretty durable but they were way too long, came all the way up to my arm pits. I thought my husband could use them but the hand part was too small for him.

I love the length of the sleeve and the looseness. The glove snugs over my hand fitting "like a glove". The little finger and thumb are a bit long for my hands but I felt I could move my fingers and grasp objects as needed. I was pulling frames to harvest some honey which of course a few bees took exception and it surprised me to feel a sting on my finger. I looked down and sure enough that little girl was pushing that stinger through the leather and got me. I still like the gloves but the leather was just not quite enough to keep the stinger away from me. Overall this is a well made product.

I'm using this product for a completely different reason than Bee Keeping. Humble Bee Gloves work wonderfully to protect the fair-freckled skin on my hands/arms during my long hours of driving for work! They are excellent quality, easy to take on/off, and quite comfortable. Also, the extended cuffs protect my arms well. I was worried they would be too hot, but they're not; I stay fairly cool and comfortable without excessive sweating. The goatskin leather is very soft and nice quality. Now I can actually use my glovebox for . . . gloves! I plan to purchase another pair to keep in my other car and tell my dermatologist to recommend these to other patients who are concerned about too much sun exposure. The only thing I would recommend to Humble Bee is to do a better job with the sizing chart and/or sizing guidelines. When I read all the reviews, I see many people having issues with getting the correct size of gloves. I saw several people comment that these gloves tend to run smaller than you think; that is, if you follow the provided sizing chart strictly, the gloves will probably be too small for you. I know this is true in my case - if I had followed the size by the sizing chart and bought ‘Large’ size, they would likely have been too small. Because of all the Amazon reviews saying to get a larger size, I went up 3-sizes (up to XXXL), but, now they are too big. I can still use them, but the fingers have some 'floppy' extensions on the end by about 1/2 inch to 1-inch of leather. For the next pair I buy (for my other car), I will get XXL, and I hope that will fit well. Except for some difficulty determining the correct sizing - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HUMBLE BEE GLOVES!
