had to write a review. This was so simple to hook up and it worked excellent with my alarm system, ADT, I believe it was a different company before ADT bought them out, point is this worked, replaced both ends the wired side and the magnet side. I'm almost 60 years old and this was a snap to install, I did use double sided tape for added hold, but the sensor does have an adhesive back to peel and stick. had my back sliding door senor go out, didn't want to buy pass it on alarm system wanted it to work again. now it doesn't and didn't even need to call for a tech to come out and fix. took about 10 minutes to fix.

Our house came with a wired alarm system and I had one of these fail years ago. So of course I searched on Amazon and I found this 5 pack. It’s a simple magnet contact where one side is wired into the house wiring and the other side is a magnet. Had one of our originals fail last night. The hardest part was finding where I put the spares. 😃. Just completed the repair in five minutes. House alarm back to fully functional. Went ahead and ordered another five pack to keep them on hand.

I had to reconnect some of my windows to my Alarm system due to having my windows changed. The service was prompt and delivery was very timely. There was only one problem. One of the contacts was permanently closed. The other 4 were perfect. Fortunately, i was able to reuse one of the original ones. Other than that, all went well and my Alarm system is up and running perfectly.

good because they do a good job of protecting the screw /clamp connections from getting hit . They are the shove in type connections not the wrap around the screw type . Come with 3m double sided adhesive pads and detents in the plastic in case you want screw them on . God buy . Better than some other styles I have seen .

Had windows changed and used them as replacement contacts and were easy to install worked great . Did not have to call out security company to replace the contacts and this saved me a lot of money.

I really wanted to like these but there are a number of issues that add up to make me want to look for a better choice.First of all, these are standard type reed switches that are used in most wired security system system window sensors. There are 2 small metal blades that are normally barely separated from each other inside a sealed glass tube. When brought close to a magnet, the magnetic field causes the 2 contacts to become temporary opposite magnetic poles and they are attracted to each other and close the circuit. When you remove the external magnet, the contacts are no longer magnetized and spring apart, thus opening the circuit. Usually, this would be called a normally open switch (ie: open circuit when there is nothing activating it), but the alarm industry tends to call these normally closed (because they consider the "normal" state of a closed window to have a magnet nearby). Anyways, these are the type that you typically want for a standard alarm system. In addition to the sensors, you also get the associated magnets.PROS:They are compact and look nice. The 2 wire screws on top are visible but don't stick out and could even be hidden with some white paint or tape. The ends with the screw holes can easily be cut off with a scissors to make them even more compact. They come with foam adhesive attached (but not all that sticky - see below). Somewhat easy to insert wires and tighten screws (if using straight solid wire that is not too thick - see below).CONS:The adhesive pad seems sticky but 4/5 sensors I installed had come loose by the next day. Best to remove the tape and use a strip of 3M mounting tape. The holes to insert the wires are a bit small; I found pushing a paperclip into each hole first helped somewhat. Some of my sensor wires are larger gauge stranded and these are fairly difficult to insert. The holes are definitely too small to allow me to tin the wire ends. Lastly, 2 of the sensors were stuck in the closed position after I mounted them - this defeats the whole purpose if they don't set off the alarm when the window opens. They unstuck with a couple taps (and then I degaussed them) and they work now but I suspect they had become magnetized while packed tightly with the included magnets (good quality reed switches should have little or no magnetic retentivity). I will definitely recheck all of them in a week or so to make sure all is still OK.Overall, a good concept at a good price but a few details could definitely be improved upon.

We had our 25 year old aluminum frame windows replaced with vinyl replacements. The house alarm window sensors were originally the small round "drilled" sensors. The window installers left the wires coming out from under the window, and I installed these. They worked perfectly, and the magnet fit cleanly under the lip of the window. Recommend to tin the wires with a bit of solder and use a paper clip to open the insert holes on the sensor to make it easier. Overall, these solved the problem and are barely noticable.

Easy installation and they work as expected. I will be ordering more in the near future as we are replacing windows in our home.
