500Hz is noticeably better than 240Hz but expensive
As of October 2023, this monitor was $700. I’ve used 240Hz monitors for the majority of my gaming. I’ve even had the 360Hz version in the same size, 24”, but I wasn’t able to discern a difference going from 240Hz to 360 on Alienware monitors.I played Counter-strike 2 with an RTX 3080/Ryzen 7800X3D, and I’ve never seen it look smoother. It’s not like the jump from 60 to 120Hz, but I might liken the upgrade in smoothness to the change from 144Hz to 240 (which some people can’t notice). Quick mouse POV movements felt more intact, and seeing movement/action also was little easier to notice in certain situations. If you’ve got the $ to blow, I would recommend this for any FPS games if you have a CPU+GPU that can push 500+ frames per second at FHD 1080p. This monitor is best for those playing highly competitive shooters or anyone who just wants less eye fatigue while gaming. At $700, it’s really a luxury buy, but once it comes down to $350 or less this will be a nice upgrade for anyone still on 144Hz at 1080p, which 24” is perfect for.

500HZ refresh rate
With the 500hz refresh rate this monitor is top of the line. 24.5" inch monitor perfect for esports especially cause if you ever want to go to a LAN this is standard for competitive lan scenes. Play Counter-Strike and although BenQ is the #1 monitor company for CS I have no complaints about this Alienware.

Not worth + Issues
Ive had this monitor for a month or so and am returning it. Its not worth it. The only redeeming quality is that its 480hz, but the picture quality and colors are so bad it doesn't work well past 300hz (as in you dont notice much past that point). Also, for some reason this monitor gets burning hot at the bottom of the screen when on for more than 2 hours. In extended sessions, I've had an issue where the monitor decides to shut down to 1fps and I believe it has something to do with it being burning hot at the bottom part. I know its the monitor because I see my fps in game and its completely fine still running 400fps on overwatch. I also was streaming once when it happened and noticed the stream was showing clear gameplay when all I saw was 1fps irl.I recommend getting a 240hz 1440p if you're trying to be competitive at a game like I am. You can get quality monitors better than this one for half the price. This 480hz stuff is not better unless its over 1000$ with oled or 1440p.
