When I weld, I can usually hold the filler rod down to about 3 or 4" long before it starts burning my fingers. Since these are only 16" long, I end up wasting 25% of every rod. At the end of my latest job, I noticed dozens of 4" pieces of rod all over the ground. What a waste. I don't recommend, nor will I buy short rods again. Normally I waste 4" of 36" that's 1/9, however with these its 1/4 that you waste. That makes these rods significantly more expensive than the longer ones. Good rod quality though.

Filler rod. 4043. Cheap and easy. Only 3 wipes with acetone to get the oxidation cleaned off and ready. Welds clean.

Great welding wire. I also like that it shipped quickly and was priced well.

I'm learning and these work well, but they are short .I just weld the nubbies together and that is good practice also. You can't beat the price.
