Silverline 589713 Filament Wheel 100 mm Coarse

I had to clean paint and plastic coatings that had been applied to bricks in my cellar. The bricks are Georgian and I planned to get them bead blasted, but the company advised against this as the bricks are very soft and would be damaged by blasting. So I decided to try the plastic filament wheel. It worked amazingly well - it was quick, effective and with no damage to the bricks - a top result : )

I have purchased several of these something like 10 or more. They do remove paint from wood and leave any moulding detail intact. At the moment I get approximately 10 - 12 feet of 6inch decking per 100mm wheel. While the results are fair to good the life span of wheel is not. But because I have started I will finish and at £5 a wheel its costing a small fortune. So I would recommend for small jobs but for larger jobs search other avenues.

Way better than sandpaper, this has all the appearances of lasting a good long time. As long as you don't expect it to remove heavy rust or thick coatings of paint, this will do the of stripping metal (and probably wood although I haven't used it for that). I used it to remove dirt and oxidisation from galvanised steel without creating too many scratches in the surface of the metal. I finished the job with proprietary metal polish and the end product looks great.

Only works on light jobs will not shift heavy substances like paint from metal work

Came on time and at a decent price. These nylon wheels are much better and safer to use than the wire variety, very useful.

Great value and cheaper than buying in home base works well for tile grout cleaning

Good quality smaller wheel for smaller, mor intricate jobs. Used a lot for cleaning up small areas on alloy, excellent results.

Stripped loose paint without significant damage to the wood beneath. Much better than the wire brushed I have tried. I would happily buy again.
