I have assembled several cubic fun projects previously, and am generally very well pleased with the detail, design, ease of assembly and final products, especially the sailing ships and the Titanic. I was curious as to how they were going to replicate the statue of Liberty, considering the many curves of the statue itself. They do it by giving you several flat sheets that are layered upon each other to form a rather flat looking statue, instead of a three dimensional statue you would hope to see. The base of the statue is beautiful, especially with the lights. But the statue itself is a rather disappointing two-dimensional figure that is totally unrealistic. It looks fine against a backing, such as a wall. But if it is placed on the center of a table or shelf, it just doesn't make the grade. Go with some of the other Cubic Fun choices before you select this one.

Simple, but fun. Remember, when putting together these 3-D puzzles, there is no time limit and no deadline, so help your seven to 11-year old understand that, because they tend to be impatient. Only a few dozen pieces to put together, and in between final steps for a given stage, it is best to use Elmer's glue to hold the pieces in place. You don't need much. That way, if your puzzle should drop it won't break apart. So really this is a puzzle that ends up being a model. The lights vary in color every six or seven seconds, and in a dark room it is very cool. And it is affordable. But don't think for a minute that ALL 3-D puzzles will be this easy. Not at all. Once you get into the 200-400 piece puzzles, it's a whole different ball game, and even many older adults give up too easily. That's why there are levels of difficulty; some are more challenging than others, so I recommend this Statue of Liberty puzzle as the perfect starter.

This was a really enjoyable build from start to finish. The pieces fit together well, the instructions were clear, and it was engaging without being frustrating. It’s a nice balance — relaxing but still feels like you’re actually building something. Once finished, the LED lights are what really set it apart. The colors look great, especially at night, and it makes for a surprisingly cool desk or shelf display. It feels more substantial than I expected and looks far more expensive than it is. This would make a great gift for anyone who likes puzzles, model kits, or NYC landmarks — or just something unique to display. I’d absolutely buy another one from this brand.
