Absolutely brilliant - totally worth it.
I’ve been using the Metapen A14 for a while now, and honestly, I’m super impressed. It feels just like the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen but at a much better price. The writing and drawing are smooth, no lag at all, and it works perfectly with my iPad. I use it mainly for note-taking and some light sketching, and it handles both really well. You can use it with Apple ipad normal model as well, its just it gets chared wirelessly thats why tey recomment use it with pro model. I have both and I can simply switch on both as needed. The wireless charging is such a great feature. It attaches to the side of the iPad and charges just like the original Apple Pencil. No extra cables, no hassle – I love it. It’s also moisture-proof, which I guess is nice to have, though I haven’t really tested that out (not planning to either!). Build-wise, it’s solid but lightweight. Feels good in the hand and comfortable to use for long periods. The magnet is decent, though not as strong as the Apple Pencil, so be careful if you’re carrying it in a bag – it might fall off. The only real downside is it doesn’t have tilt sensitivity, so if you’re a serious artist, you might miss that. But for someone like me, who’s mostly using it for casual stuff, it’s perfect. Overall, it’s a great buy if you’re looking for something like the Apple Pencil but don’t want to spend a fortune. Totally worth it!

UPDATED: Great pen for short, infrequent use, not heavy note taking/long periods of sketching.
*** UPDATE: Since writing my review Lila from Metapens customer service reached out directly. I’ve been very impressed with her customer service and their willingness to act upon my feedback to include more detail about the life span of the pen’s nibs when used in conjunction with a paper-feel protector as this was missing from the description and product info as it will significantly limit the nibs life. They have since sent me a replacement pen and have offered to keep me updated should they release a nib more tailored for paper-feel protectors. Due to their brilliant customer service I’m upgrading my review to 5 stars as they have acted promptly to help resolve and the pen itself is great to use weartime on paper-feel aside. *** ORIGINAL This one is really nice and I chose it after reading lots of reviews about battery life, ease of use and how long before the nib wears down. The battery and pen itself is really good, nice to use and quick to set up. However, after a week of using it for uni notes I found the first nib wore down and I had to replace it, now almost another week on the second nib is already beginning to wear (shown in last photo). I haven’t used it every day but am using for a few hours a day when I do (maybe 4-5/7). I have been disappointed with how quick this has worn down and it’s not financially or environmentally practical or efficient for me to be ordering new nibs every 3-4 weeks. So it’s a great pen if you’re only using it intermittently and for short periods but if you want to use it for uni notes/work or anything more time demanding I wouldn’t recommend. I’m now looking for an alternative to meet my needs.

A good alternative to the brand name pencil.
Great alternative to the branded pencil. Works well, is lightweight and good value. Only downside is the battery life which is good but not great.

Excellent for Note-Taking
I bought this about 6 months ago to use with my M1 iPad Air, and it’s amazing! My iPad isn’t compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro, but this product gives me all of the same perks for a fraction of the cost. I’ve found that it’s durable, high-quality, and holds up well (it’s often thrown about in my backpack). The magnetism is strong it looks good. The only potentially annoying factor is the light that shines out of the end, but you get used to this pretty quickly. I’d definitely recommend this product. It works great with Goodnotes for hand written uni notes.

Surprised and impressed
I lost my Apple Pencil and couldn’t face the thought of buying a new one at full apple prices. So I tried this one and what a good decision! It has a strong magnet so stays attached (and charging) to the iPad as I pull it in and out of a bag. Connecting it the first time was quick and now happens automatically. The feel and balance of the pencil when writing seems very similar to the apple one - I don’t notice the difference. Very occasionally misses a small bit of writing - maybe two words every week or two, and I’m using it to write notes several hours each day. So really the only downside v the official apple one, is having to turn it on using the button on the top. That’s now become habit. This pencil is so good, I have no desire to buy another apple one. I could lose a few of these and still be financially better off! Well done to the designers, best non-apple pencil I’ve ever used.

As good as an Apple Pencil
I can’t fault this pencil, it charges off my iPad and I can fully recommend its use and at £24 price it’s a no brainier.

As good as the original
Having had a few Apple Pencils, this is equal if not better despite some integration elements Nat available.

I recently switched from the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) to the Metapen A14 on my iPad, and I couldn’t be happier. It delivers the same precision, pressure sensitivity and palm rejection you’d expect from Apple’s stylus, yet costs a fraction of the price. • Performance: Smooth, responsive tracking across drawing apps and note‑taking. No lag, and even fine details come through clearly. • Compatibility: Plug‑and‑play pairing with iPadOS—auto‑sleep, auto‑wake, and shortcut gestures work seamlessly. • Battery life: Easily lasts a full day of heavy use, and recharges quickly via USB‑C. • Build quality: Solid aluminum body with a comfortable weight and balanced grip. My first unit stopped working after a few weeks, but customer service immediately sent a replacement—no return, no extra shipping fees. The quick resolution shows they stand behind their product. If you want full Apple Pencil functionality without the premium price tag, the Metapen A14 is an outstanding alternative.
