It would be an excellent board, when it works.

I would have liked this board except for the fact that it did not work. Similar to the Gigabyte AB350-Gaming, this one showed no video output on three verified operational video cards and continually rebooted with debug code "Ad" which means 'Ready to boot' (except it won't POST). I suspect that it is another casualty of the exceptional sensitivity of the AM4 boards to hardware. The fact that it came with 1.60 BIOS instead of the current 2.20 (at time of writing) might not have helped, but there is no way to flash it. Memory will be a particular problem as the QVL is rather short... The memory that I put into the system is operating quite happily on a i7 Kaby-lake system -- Yes, I had to go to the dark side :(If one of these doesn't POST immediately, be aware that per-instructions from Asrock, it might reboot several times before becoming operational, and to leave for upto 5 minutes to see if will POST. (I left it for 30...)However - The board quality in terms of build is excellent; generally Asrock have a low rate of RMA circa 2016; and the packaging is excellent as well (you even get a postcard). Asrock support in the Netherlands was prompt (about 24 hrs) and detailed in its response, so I cannot fault them for that. The board has an SLI connector, 4x SATA cables, and some screws, probably for M.2 devices. It comes attached to foam so that you can test 'breadboard' style before building into a case. It has a Dr Debug code LED on the board, but you might want to look up the full AMI BIOS code list as not all are listed in the manual online.Honestly, if you not prepared to play the AM4 lottery, where the main prize is a lot if RMAs of possibly functional items, you might want to steer clear for a short while until the board manufacturers get their act sorted out.

Ram support, shorts on board and unstable/ unreliable posting

I have been using ASRock boards for a long time and they typically produce good quality products at good prices. However this is the first time I have had so many issues with a single board. It's too memory clocks are lower than most x370 boards. As some others have stated, it seems to hate Corsair ram and the fact it has no more bios support is sad as compatibility could be resolved. It should also be noted that it struggles to post in my case and I believe this was due to a short on the board where solder was joining. It wasnt stable when it did post and I noticed the solder point causing a short which is concerning as it clearly should have passed qc.This is still a very good board, if you don't have high clocked memory and your memory is supported then it is great as it has plenty of fan headers and peripherals. But it's one of the lower x370 boards I have used. This is hopefully just bad luck.I will still buy ASRock as I said earlier that this is my first issue like this, but I won't buy another board with such weak support from them in this example.

Good mobo, but...

Got my R7 1700 running at 3.8GHz @ 1.25V really stable.Too bad that after 3 days of buying this mobo the Gaming X came out with support for 3200MHz memory. It seems that the Gaming K4 will not support more than 2933MHz.
