Good keyboard for a beginner
I haven’t played piano before, so this review comes from that perspective.I like the feel of the keys, both texture and resistance to press. It’s easy to find middle C on this keyboard and get my hands aligned. The keyboard is solid in terms of flexing as I play it. I have it on a keyboard stand that I bought along with it.The sound quality is good. The speakers face upward and aren’t too loud or soft. The music stand is solid. I have my iPad on it that I play from and it doesn’t move much as I press on the iPad to continue lessons. The keyboard has a lot of functions built into it that I’m not sure I’ll ever get to, but it’s nice that they are built in. The ability to emulate different instruments, inclusion of drum or percussive instruments, metronome, and other feature are nice. Whether I’ll use them much, we’ll see.My one minor criticism is that the power cord is that perfect middle size where it’s both too short and too long. I can’t kind of wrap it around the keyboard stand to keep it out of the way, but it’s too short to stay out of the way naturally. I wish it were a couple of feet longer. It came securely packaged and worked right out of the box.In all, it seems like a good starter keyboard, well worth the money. I’d buy it again.

Uses PS/2 connection for sustain pedal
It appears that the only sustain pedal that will work with this keyboard is the one that comes with it. Please note in the pictures for this product that the port where the sustain pedal connects has 6 pins. Also note that in the manual it advises you to have the keyboard powered-off when connecting/disconnecting the sustain pedal. That's how it used to be with PS/2 mice on computers. The six foot cord on the sustain pedal is a little limiting if you plan to "stand" while playing. I've ordered a Male-Female PS/2 extension "cord" to give me an additional six feet of slack for the sustain pedal. By PS/2 I do not mean "Oh that game console from Sony". For "fun" I connected an old PS/2 mouse to the "sustain pedal port" and was able to activate/deactivate sustain using the "wheel" on the mouse. This indicates that there's some "proprietary stuff" going on with the sustain pedal. You probably will not be able to use a different pedal with this keyboard. I've owned this product for 3 days at the moment. I like that the keys are solid so that your fingers can't accidentally get "under" the keys. There is a healthy amount of resistance with each key which is probably what they meant by "semi-weighted". After all - the goal is to prevent accidentally hitting "extra notes" during performance. A weighted keyboard gives you more confidence because the instrument supports your fingers. I'm very happy that this product is ready to go from the second you turn on the power. There is no "startup delay" when you turn it on. I am able to read sheet music very well but in order to "learn" some of the more advanced "styles" it helps to use the cascading piano roll available via software or YouTube. I've placed this keyboard in front of a 60-inch TV so that the virtual keys on-screen match perfectly with the ones on this instrument. The price-point and the positive reviews helped me make a purchase decision. But what made me choose this one in particular is that it offers "transposition". I work with several musicians who either need or want the music played in a different key. Transposition lets me play the music as written and adjusts the tone so that it matches the other musicians. I was surprised that USPS delivered the keyboard without "help" from another carrier. The packaging was very sturdy and this keyboard is well constructed and yet lightweight. I haven't tried the other "voices" because I'm mainly looking for a piano sound while I practice. But I am quite satisfied with the "piano" sound and can say that it sounds good and is not embarrassing as others have hinted in their reviews.

Absolute waste of money; cheap homogenous voices, nauseating sustain I can't turn off
Ok...maybe, MAYBE this keyb'd is for an absolute beginning student, 3 to 7 years old.Imagine, if you will, that all 256 or so voices SOUND LIKE EVERY OTHER ONE! Notkidding here.... all the voices are some hideous version of a square wave, with slighttweaks in harmonics to make it vary. It's like if you dumped all the various tubs of flavors of ice cream together into somegelatinous brown mass and then set up 256 iced cream cones out and simply announced thatthey were distinct flavors. Yes, kind of a *to use the current term) gaslighting.Actually you would even be doing a child disservice by gifting this. They would grow up thinking thata pipe organ sounds like a choir of "oooo"s and that sounds like a flute and then soundslike a piano which sounds like a shakuhachi which sounds like RFK's brain worms, I dunno..Don't get this. Somebody give me my money back!

Cute beginner piano for kids or adults
Great starter piano for the kids also comes with the book for beginners, which is pretty awesome. I love the fact that it comes with headphones and a stand. Great buy

A Good Place to Start!
I took piano for 8 years (in college and after) but I've since passed my piano on to my granddaughters. I wanted to get music back in my fingers so I researched keyboards. I wanted one that had 88 keys and was weighted, and in expensive... if I do well, I'll eventually purchase a higher end keyboard! I already had a stand and stool, so I just needed the keyboard. I specifically looked for a basic keyboard with the Piano sound but it has several other sounds as well. The piano sound is spot on with my music app! The keys are semi-weighted which I like. The pedal is nice but it's not large so it's a bit strange getting used to it. With a keyboard you can't really change the timbre of the individual notes by touch, but at least it's perfectly in tune. For starting out, this keyboard is overall a great value!

Lasts just over 1 year.
I've used this on and off pretty infrequently over the year I've owned it. It's now been a year and 1 month and when I powered the piano on it started smoking so I unplugged it immediately. As expected it no longer works and sadly the replacement period ended at the end of last month. It's a great piano while it lasts, but don't expect it to last long.
