Q: Why am i only getting 117.4 gb of usable space? a 128 card should have 119.2 gb of usable space. i cannot fit a 128 image on this card because of this

Most disks -- just like internal storage -- take up a considerable amount for the device you put it in to recognize it and for other things. When you bought the device you're using, it has taken storage space, too. For example, a Kindle Fire will have taken between 3-4 GB already, brand new. In your settings, did you set it to store any apps that may be eligible that were already installed before you installed the card? I think I had four and another later. If you click on the card itself under Storage, it will list what's on it now and how much disk space each is taking. I don't know if you're using it for a laptop, android, phone, camera or a Kindle, so I can't be more specific. This article, even though it's regarding a camera, explains about binary storage being different than KB, MB, GB, TB, etc., so it takes up more memory than how we think of iit straightforward.
