The media could not be loaded.  We heat with wood using a variety of hardwoods. This meter will be useful for helping to determine if the firewood is cured enough to be brought in for the woodstove. It is nice that it came with batteries and detailed instructions, including information about what to look for in different species of wood. With so many devices going “rechargeable,” it would be nice if future models offered that option. It is a nice, compact size to fit in a pocket. In some instances, the meter reading would just cycle through numerous levels of data and never did produce a final result I could use. Perhaps it was operator error and I just need more practice. In other instances, the result (or range of results) seemed more practical. I do not know how well it responds to other materials or situations.

I used this tool to check my basement carpet moisture level after I cleaned it. Easy to use. I liked the "hold" and the "back light" feature.

Nice, easy to use moisture meter. Overall, it appears to be of good quality, typical of small electronics these days. It couldn't be easier to use; turn it on, set the mode for your type of wood, and press the pins into the wood. The small size makes it very convenient, small enough to easily fit in you pocket and bring to the lumber yard and get a rough idea of moisture content.As with most moisture meters, you will need to set this one for the density of the wood that you are measuring. Unfortunately, the supplied chart is very limited in wood species. If your species is not on the chart, you will need to look up the density of your wood species and then find another species on the chart that is similar.I have know idea about the absolute accuracy of the meter, but I compared readings with a surface style meter I also use on several wood species and this meter always seems to read a few percent lower. I don't know which is more accurate and in truth it does not matter since the way I use moisture meters is to take readings with the same meter over a long period of time (weeks or months), and once the values stop changing, then you know your wood is fully acclimated to your environment.At $19.99, this little pin meter is a very good value. It will be interesting to see how it performs over time and see ho well it performs, but at this price point, it is worth having around.

The LONVOX Pin-type Digital Moisture Detector is so easy to use, and very compact and portable. I can't judge if it is accurate, as I have nothing to compare it to, but it seems to detect moisture just fine.

For the price (especially on the Cyber Monday Sale at 50% off), this little pin-type moisture meter is worth having around. My memory is usually pretty good, but I cannot remember what the different modes are intended to measure; I have to keep the manual with the unit. Some hint on the display or sticker on the back would help.I know I had a water leak in my RV. Stabbing this around showed me where the wet areas were, but stabbing the same place would result in a different reading. It would be higher than the dry areas so I trusted it to detect the wet areas, just not how wet was wet. Now I want a contactless moisture meter to look for moisture behind a waterproof barrier without having to put holes in it.This would have made a great Father's Day gift.

This seems to be much more accurate than the pinless meter I own. I had long suspected that I wasn't getting good readings and this seems to indicate I was right. I've been trying to mitigate water in my basement concrete for some time and this has helped me do so.

Thought i had already done a review on this, oh well!!! excellent value, smaller than anticipated but just makes it so much easier to carry it in my pocket when I go to lumber yard and can verify moisture level on lumber I am considering purchasing.

I do not understand how it works but it works! It reads the moisture level very quickly. Another thing is that it has another useful function of measuring the room temperature.
