Great for painting
I got this for hobby painting and I was very pleased with the results, though it has no pre made design on the shields so you have to make your own thus I would not suggest it for people new to the hobby. Note they are a little small compared to other 1/72 miniatures but not by much. I was happy with results and would suggest it to friends.

you can make a turtle formation!
These figures are well detailed and in a variety of poses. You get enough for a command section and more importantly enough to make a full Roman turtle, including poses with shields over their heads, to the sides, etc. My main complaint is that the shields are separate and have a little hole in the middle that sockets onto a nub on each figure's hand, and basically it doesn't fit. I had to file or trim almost every figure - sometimes I filed the hand-nub down, sometimes i widened the shield hole. They look great once they're all together though!

Great detail and great value
Very detailed figures for the scale. For clarity, the box includes 1 command consisting of 4 figures, 20 non-testudo formation legionaries, and 28 legionaries that are designed to be placed in testudo formation (they are holding no weapons and have drawn their shields close to themselves). This makes the 52 figures total. The figures are perfect for dioramas and war gaming.

A great addition to the collection
With the inclusion of the Testudo formation this set will be fun to paint and use in a diorama. Perfect for 1/72 war gaming too if you like.

Provides testudo formation. As said others, the attachment of shields is quite difficult. For shield decals you have to get them elsewhere."The sculpting is mostly excellent, with just one or two slightly flat areas. Detail too is great and for the most part the engineering is also first class. However we did struggle with some of the shields. While they fit well the bendability of the plastic made placing the shield more difficult than it could have been, as the hand tended to bend away when pressure was applied. This is yet another very nice product from a company that always seems to deliver quality these days. The effort needed to design the testudo must have been considerable, and as we have said assembly is a little tricky too, but while we have slight niggles we think the results are well worth it and will be welcomed by most fans of this period."

Not worth the money!
Pieces are so incredibly tiny. This was a completely disappointing purchase.
