Why does the food keep changing? One time I'll order it and the kibble will be dark brown, the next time I order the kibble will be light brown

I don't know, but it made my dog and cats sick over a period of several weeks, maybe a couple of months, before we traced their distress to the food. We thought it was because we had moved. That is stressful, of course. But as soon as we switched brands, they recovered. The description states there is no chicken bi-product meal, yet it is the second ingredient listed. I'm confused?

Chicken meal is dried ground up chicken, chicken by products are at is removed at the mill or manufacturers. The by products are what is taken out like bones and stuff. Mills grind these up and sell to manufactures at a lower price. Like white rice is just rice with all the brans removed. They grind that up and sell it as meals

First question. 1. The upper right corner of bag in image says it's free of poultry or chicken by-product but ingredient lists chicken. Which is it?

It contains pure chicken meal as the second ingredient. If your dog has skin allergies to chicken please avoid this product. Blue Buffalo does offer a limited ingredients version of Blue Buffalo Salmon with no chicken but the protein level is much lower as a sacrifice. I recommend Merrick's Salmon and Sweet Potato dog food with 34% protein offering no chicken related ingredients on the label period. Dog Food Advisor . com gives it 5 STARS

What is the shelf life of unopened sack of Blue Wilderness salmon dog food?

The expiration date is on the bag. Problem I have gotten shipments with 18 month shelf life. Ordered again in 6 months same date. 6 months again same date. Now only 2 months away. Not good as I keep a 4 month supply as part of emergency prep. 3 goldens

My Samoyed is so picky & he eats this.

I tried farmers dog, Ollie, and so many more overpriced “real food” dog food whether it was wet or dry my dog liked it but let’s be real that stuff is too expensive and they can get vitamins in MANY other ways. My dog really won’t eat anything if he dislikes it even in the slightest. So the fact my dog eats this means he loves it. It’s hard to find salmon flavored kibble that are quality, so definitely get this if you want something nutritious, tastes good to your pup and is good quality.
