Coloring
I love the color of this model, I opened it up but I have not started to build it yet. This Gundam I may not actually paint.

Many poorly fitting parts - cannot recommend…
I was looking forward to this build, but unfortunately the fit / finish of many parts are inaccurate, resulting in loose parts. I seldom have to resort to gluing with Bandai models, which are well known for their accuracy, but I glued about 20 pieces so they would be secure. Also, I was disappointed by the flexible holographic “gimmick” parts. It is very difficult to see the holographic effect, resulting in parts that just appear to be translucent gray. Unfortunately, while it is a nice design overall, I cannot fully recommend this set. I expect better from Bandai, especially in a MG set.

私見だけれど、同時に発売されたリサーキュレーションカラーMGは、 ・バルバトスは真っ黒すぎ？ ・エールストライクは塗り分けのルールが理解できない。 ・RX-78の塗り分けルールは更に理解不能。アートかな？ という感じの中、エクシアだけは作例のように、外伝かゲームの敵側機体？と思わせる配色。部分塗装するなら、metal buildのアストレアtype-xを参考にするのも面白いかも知れない。 パープルのランナーはABSになるので、塗装を躊躇する向きもありそうだけど、自分なりに調べてやってみた感じでは、パーツ負荷(応力)と溶剤が同時に存在するパターンさえ回避すれば、劣化は発生しない模様。具体的には、パーツ単位で塗って、乾いてから組み立てれば良いだけの話。 逆に、スナップフィットのABS部分を、組んだ状態で塗装するのは、最悪の手順だと思う。
