Souvenir Chest Crate Tool Box with Lid to Decorate 40x 30 x14cm

The hinges are slipped into the wood , mine came out or fell out when I opened it but I intended on replacing them anyways. So I bought vintage hinges and locks for it. Great buy otherwise. I gave 4stars due to hinges..

The media could not be loaded.  Nicely made box that would have a 5 star rating if the quality control was there. This had some 'chips' from the top that needed rubbing down before varnishing. Whilst I expect to have to rub down a box of this sort before varnishing, I don't expect to have to remove these.As to the box. It's correctly sized and well made with good tongue and grove joints. As you can see from my video, I made it into a box to hold an air gun, but, to be honest, can be used for anything from kids toys to craft tools et. al..

Bought to make Christmas Eve boxes, perfect size to fit pjs, DVD, book, hot chocolate and popcorn kernels for popping, oh and Santa's magic key, with room to spare. Glad we went for this size, not the smaller one. Will get to re-use this each year and will pack my fragile Christmas ornaments in it for storage.Really well packaged and protected in an appropriate sized cardboard box (you know how Amazon like to use jumbo size for everything right hehe), well done this seller for protecting my purchase so well.Unfinished wood, but perfectly smooth, one small splinter sticking out on the base which hasn't effected the use, for the price I was very surprised this was the only blemish, I expected more, am very pleasantly surprised. Hinges well finished too.This is perfect for painting, decoupage, varnish, decorating in anyway you see fit. Lovely smooth, rounded edges. This would make the perfect memory box too.

Arrived "without" the stabilising arm, could not send back as birthday is tomorrow..( main gift will be inside and this was to be a momento box ). Very light weak wood, hinges are attatched very badly, also one hinge fitted out of line. This is a terrible box, you would only give it away with bottles of bubbly and it would probably be thrown away afterwards, definalty not worth the price.... :( (edit).. worse than I thought, lid ) fell off this morning when placing the gift inside 🙁

Inexpensive but not shoddy. The hinges are adequate, there is no catch and the lid support is only a thin cloth strap. This is designed for craft work and you would not expect to use it as supplied without some further work.I have replaced the cloth lid support with two heavier ones, one on each side. The wood has been stained with water based wood stain and then paste waxed and it looks much more expensive than it is. I have ordered 2 flip catches to finish the job.Altogether very satisfied.

Good box, ideal for a what I wanted which was to make a drinks tasting birthday box. Gave it a sand down to make it more smooth and then varnished it. Worth the money and packed really well

This is pretty cheaply made, the finger/box jointing is not glued, only a press-fit, and to my dismay it un-fitted itself while carrying a large collection of board game cards which took a long time to sort out again! It's easy to fix with a bit of wood glue, but frustrating that it needs doing at all. The surface finish is also extremely rough, you'll definitely want to go around it with some sandpaper (or paint it i suppose)

Bought this to place all the mementoes of my Dog in who I lost in October. Large box and well made but my only concern id the wood is very thin and I doubt this would stand up to too much knocking about.
