Because it depends on how much each person uses their chair and how fat and heavy there legs are or are not. It's simple math of energy and battery power. The battery has capacity of so many miliamps. This one has 2200. The higher the number the bigger the storage. People answer in terms of number of days of use. That makes no sense. My 2 have been running for 3 months in a loveseat that is only used when company comes over. It's like gas in a gas tank, don't drive and it lasts forever. Drive a lot and it could be empty in a day. Make your decision based on the number of milliamps.

Can it be a back up for power outages

Yes! But it will only work during the outage if it’s fully charged, and you will only get a few days out of it until it’s dead again. They are terrible battery packs for what they cost and the amount of power they are capable of producing.
