When is the expire date?

Starbucks by Nespresso sleeves are stamped with a production and best before date. The best before date is approximately 12 months from the date of production. Please note that Starbucks by Nespresso capsules are hermetically sealed, safe from light, moisture and oxygen, and do not actually expire. While the capsule remains sealed, the coffee retains its freshness and flavor after the best before date. The date simply acts as an indicator of optimal freshness, flavor and aroma.

I use my nespresso machine to make lattes. i am not familiar with how the lungo feature works. would this be similar to a regular coffee with water?

The lungo button pumps more water through the coffee. If you're not using a capsule which was designed for lungo brewing, this can result in a shot which is much bitterer or has "off" flavors (or, more rarely, it can be delicious). If you want something more like an Americano, you would brew an espresso with a capsule in the machine, eject the capsule, and then brew a lungo (or espresso, if you like a less watery Americano) with no capsule in the machine.

I didn’t know capsules and pods were different I just got a Nespresso. This doesn’t work on mine????.

Nespresso makes two different systems that have different pods. One is the “Original” pods and the other is called “Vertuo pods. To my knowledge the systems for these are not compatible to use the differing coffee pods. Check out the Nespresso website under coffee for additional details Now if your question refers to Kurig like capsules than those only work in systems that are compatible with Kurig and Nespresso is not one of them. However, you can buy different brands of Nespresso compatible “original” pods on Amazon which can be used in your Nespresso original coffee maker

Very Bland Coffee

I would not recommend buying the Starbucks House blend. Its very flat with very little taste. I would stick to Starbucks Columbian and Pike for Nespresso. They are both great tasting coffees.
